Week 5 fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em WR analysis from FlurrySports includes the likes of New York Giants’ WR Wan’Dale Robinson.
The fifth week of the NFL season is the first for teams on bye. So, you could be without Drake London, DK Metcalf, Rome Odunze, or other wide receivers that have been in your starting lineup. That’s tough. Navigating bye weeks can be a pain, but our Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em WRs series is here to help you get a win despite the chaos that this week brings.
In this weekly Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em article, we will be talking about the WR2/3 grey area, where you may have some tough decisions that will need to be made. Players like Jaxon Smith-Njigba or Justin Jefferson will not be discussed. Yes, start them. You drafted them early for a reason, and it’s too early to move away from them! Instead, we are more concerned about the low-end WR2 or WR3 area where a player with a solid matchup should return value that is worth the start, and vice versa.
Now, labeling a player as a “sit” does not mean they are a must-sit player. As always, check out my weekly fantasy football rankings here. You can also become a member to join a group chat with me and other members where all fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em questions are welcomed!

Start: Wan’Dale Robinson Fantasy Outlook at Saints
Zach Brunner’s Week 5 Fantasy Football Rankings
This week, the Giants and Dart get a confidence-boosting matchup with the New Orleans Saints. It’s the perfect matchup to get Dart experienced with these receivers before the schedule gets difficult. The Saints surrender a 71.2% completion rate and give up 7.4 yards per pass attempt this season. If they are letting Dart get easy throws, many will be going to Robinson, who should have little issue against the New Orleans cornerbacks.

Sit: DeVonta Smith Fantasy Outlook vs Broncos
While the Denver Broncos’ defense has not performed as well as they should, this is still not a secondary that you want to test. DeVonta Smith will see a combination of Riley Moss and the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, Pat Surtain II. While Moss is clearly the better match, neither is one to feel comfortable about, especially given the Philadelphia Eagles’ offense so far.
No team runs the ball more than the Eagles this season (54.4%). They run the ball better than they throw it and, frankly, they haven’t needed to pass much. The result has been Smith finishing outside the top 50 at WR (in PPR) three of the four weeks. There are talks of getting this passing game going in Philadelphia. However, this doesn’t seem like the week to do it. And if it is, one would think they get their star receiver, AJ Brown, going, especially since he and Jalen Hurts are so close (Hurts is godfather to Browns’ daughter).
For now, Smith will stay as a “sit” in our Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em.
Sit: Keon Coleman Fantasy Outlook vs Patriots
On Sunday Night Football, we get an AFC East divisional matchup that could be more of a slugfest than people would like to think. The Buffalo Bills notoriously play to the level of their opponents, but they have been less than impressive in their previous three games, which were matchups against the Jets, Dolphins and Saints. For example, they let a bad New Orleans team hang around last week while also letting them have the ball for nearly 29 minutes. This week, they face a New England Patriots offense that could control the ball, limiting Buffalo’s possessions.
So, limited possessions mean limited opportunity for fantasy points. On top of that, Keon Coleman has not been great. He has seen three targets in three straight games, leading to a WR50 or worse finish (in PPR) in all of those games. With him being the clear threat on the outside, he will likely see a lot of Christian Gonzalez, which is bad news for Coleman.
