Taking a look at the notable fantasy football snap counts from every game in NFL Week 4.
We are now a month into the season, and it feels like there is very little stability around the league. Below, you will see there are situations from the Week 4 fantasy football snap counts when there isn’t much to take away, since it simply validates what we have known this season. However, due to injuries, low-IQ offensive play, and several other factors, many teams are still trying to find their identity.
Like last week, you will only get an abbreviated version of my fantasy football snap counts here. If you are one of the beautiful, handsome, intelligent, sophisticated members, you will get the whole damn thing! Notable Fantasy Football Snap Counts From Week 4
Seahawks vs Cardinals | NFL Snap Counts
Seattle Seahawks Snap Counts (66 Total)
- RB Kenneth Walker (33)
- RB Zach Charbonnet (31)
- WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba (53)
- WR Cooper Kupp (49)
- WR Tory Horton (24)
- TE AJ Barner (57)
- TE Elijah Arroyo (36)
Arizona Cardinals Snap Counts (67 Total)
- RB Trey Benson (37)
- RB Emari Demercado (26)
- RB Michael Carter (4)
- WR Marvin Harrison Jr. (67)
- WR Michael Wilson (65)
- WR Greg Dortch (43)
- TE Trey McBride (64)
Zach Charbonnet returned to the lineup, and Seattle split their backfield down the middle once again. While Kenneth Walker is the big-play threat, Charbonnet is the short-yardage back, and these fantasy points could often even out. The WRs continue to shake out as expected, even with Jaxon Smith-Njigba sick. And like I said often last year, Seattle loves AJ Barner at TE. His blocking ability keeps him on the field, but he is athletic enough to make plays as well, as shown by his touchdown in this game.
The first game without James Conner came on a short week, so it’s not too surprising the veteran Emari Demarcado saw more snaps than many expected. As long as Trey Benson plays well, he should see his snap share increase. Other than that, the receiving corps for the Cardinals could not be any clearer.
Vikings vs Steelers | NFL Snap Counts
Minnesota Vikings Snap Counts (76 Total)
- RB Jordan Mason (47)
- RB Zavier Scott (29)
- WR Justin Jefferson (76)
- WR Jordan Addison (73)
- WR Jalen Nailor (48)
- WR Adam Thielen (12)
- TE TJ Hockenson (71)
Pittsburgh Steelers Snap Counts (53 Total)
- RB Kenneth Gainwell (41)
- RB Kaleb Johnson (11)
- WR DK Metcalf (42)
- WR Calvin Austin III (27)
- WR Ben Skowronek (18)
- WR Scotty Miller (13)
- WR Roman Wilson (3)
- TE Darnell Washington (48)
- TE Pat Freiermuth (15)
- TE Jonnu Smith (13)
We talked about it last week, but Zavier Scott very clearly is picking up the receiving role in the backfield that Aaron Jones left. He played well here while Jordan Mason is the clear lead back. Jordan Addison returned to the lineup and was an every-down player, while Adam Thielen is now here for mentorship and moral support.
Jaylen Warren was a late addition to the injury report, forcing him to miss the game. This meant Kaleb Johnson was allowed to touch the field again, but it was Kenneth Gainwell who was the main RB, and he played very well in that role. Jonnu Smith was limited with an injury, and Calvin Austin III left with what seems to be a serious injury. It is interesting to note that not even Austin’s injury could get Roman Wilson on the field, however. The Steelers should be calling the Titans about a receiver.
Commanders vs Falcons | NFL Snap Counts
Washington Commanders Snap Counts (57 Total)
- RB Bill Croskey-Merritt (20)
- RB Chris Rodriguez (20)
- RB Jeremy McNichols (19)
- WR Deebo Samuel (49)
- WR Chris Moore (40)
- WR Jaylin Lane (25)
- WR Luke McCaffrey (21)
- TE Zach Ertz (35)
- TE Ben Sinnott (27)
Atlanta Falcons Snap Counts (65 Total)
- RB Bijan Robinson (45)
- RB Tyler Allgeier (21)
- WR Drake London (55)
- WR Casey Washington (34)
- WR Darnell Mooney (29)
- WR Ray-Ray McCloud (23)
- TE Kyle Pitts (48)
- TE Charlie Woerner (44)
The Commanders had a few injuries, with Jayden Daniels and Terry McLaurin out while Bill Croskey-Merritt was limited all week with knee soreness. It seems pretty clear that the Commanders don’t trust JCM, and he also doesn’t seem built to take on a heavy workload anyway, so this will be a split backfield. Chris Moore saw the largest boost in snaps without McLaurin.
The Falcons’ roles and fantasy football snap counts seem pretty clear. The only thing of note here is Darnell Mooney leaving with a hamstring injury. Also, Tyler Allgeier’s role is to grind out the clock at the end of the game if Atlanta is leading.
Saints vs Bills | NFL Snap Counts
New Orleans Saints Snap Counts (67 Total)
- RB Alvin Kamara (49)
- RB Kendre Miller (21)
- WR Brandin Cooks (60)
- WR Chris Olave (57)
- WR Rashid Shaheed (47)
- TE Juwan Johnson (60)
Buffalo Bills Snap Counts (59 Total)
- RB James Cook (43)
- RB Ty Johnson (12)
- RB Ray Davis (5)
- WR Keon Coleman (43)
- WR Khalil Shakir (31)
- WR Curtis Samuel (20)
- WR Elijah Moore (15)
- TE Jackson Hawes (31)
- TE Dawson Knox (24)
- TE Dalton Kincaid (22)
The veteran Brandin Cooks led the Saints in snaps in this game. He nearly had a touchdown as well, but the replay proved it was not a score. He is an interesting deep-league sleeper. Alvin Kamara continues to play the majority of the snaps, but he is not effective as a receiver whatsoever. Through four games, he has 13 catches for 49 yards. While this was a quiet game for Juwan Johnson, he was on the field.
Dalton Kincaid scored another touchdown, but it’s tough to get excited about the TE with the third-most snaps on the team. James Cook continues to dominate the backfield while WRs have a clear top two.
Browns vs Lions | NFL Snap Counts
Cleveland Browns Snap Counts (67 Total)
- RB Quinshon Judkins (39)
- RB Jerome Ford (18)
- RB Dylan Sampson (9)
- WR Jerry Jeudy (55)
- WR Isaiah Bond (37)
- WR Jamari Thrash (28)
- WR Cedric Tillman (15)
- TE Harold Fannin Jr. (57)
- TE David Njoku (56)
Detroit Lions Snap Counts (60 Total)
- RB Jahmyr Gibbs (37)
- RB David Montgomery (20)
- WR Amon-Ra St. Brown (54)
- WR Jameson Williams (51)
- WR Kalif Raymond (33)
- WR Isaac TeSlaa (12)
- TE Sam LaPorta (56)
With another week under his belt, rookie Quinshon Judkins is taking control of this backfield. He is playing well with snaps, and it feels very clear that he deserves to be a starting NFL running back. Cedric Tillman got hurt in this one, shaking up the WR corps. Isaiah Bond is the clear WR3, but he gets promoted without Tillman. Rookie Harold Fannin Jr. played over 85% of the snaps, which is a new high for him. Since he lines up everywhere, part of the increased snaps is because of Tillman as well.
There isn’t much to say about the Lions’ fantasy football snaps. We know about the split backfield and the roles among the WRs. The only thing I’ll say is that I really like Kalif Raymond as a player. He’s overlooked, but he is a solid all-around football player.
Titans vs Texans | NFL Snap Counts
Tennessee Titans Snap Counts (50 Total)
- RB Tony Pollard (43)
- RB Julius Chestnut (7)
- WR Elic Ayomanor (41)
- WR Tyler Lockett (36)
- WR Calvin Ridley (27)
- WR Cimere Dike (20)
- TE Chig Okonkwo (35)
- TE Gunnar Helm (20)
Houston Texans Snap Counts (71 Total)
- RB Woody Marks (40)
- RB Nick Chubb (30)
- WR Nico Collins (61)
- WR Xavier Hutchinson (48)
- WR Christian Kirk (43)
- WR Jayden Higgins (31)
- TE Dalton Schultz (60)
With Tyjae Spears eligible to return next week, this could be the last time Tony Pollard dominates the Titans’ fantasy football snaps like this. The WR corps received a shakeup in this game, with Calvin Ridley’s role being reduced. I suppose the good thing for him is that nobody else stepped up, but that’s because this offense is terrible. It doesn’t matter who the play-caller is, apparently, but that could be the reason for Ridley’s reduced snaps. I would think one of the veteran WRs gets traded from here.
The Houston Texans’ backfield has now shifted towards Woody Marks. While Nick Chubb received the start, Marks finished with more snaps, and this was because of how well he was playing. He clearly can do more than Chubb with the football at this point in each of their careers.
Panthers vs Patriots | NFL Snap Counts
Carolina Panthers Snap Counts (69 Total)
- RB Chuba Hubbard (35)
- RB Rico Dowdle (27)
- WR Tetairoa McMillan (65)
- WR Brycen Tremayne (56)
- WR Hunter Renfrow (34)
- TE Tommy Tremble (52)
- TE James Mitchell (17)
New England Patriots Snap Counts (49 Total)
- RB Rhamondre Stevenson (28)
- RB TreVeyon Henderson (15)
- RB Antonio Gibson (9)
- WR Kayshon Boutte (34)
- WR Stefon Diggs (31)
- WR Mack Hollins (24)
- WR Kyle Williams (14)
- WR DeMario Douglas (8)
- TE Hunter Henry (37)
- TE Austin Hooper (32)
Chuba Hubbard was questionable coming into this game, so that could be why the snaps are a bit more even. The Panthers were also without Xavier Legette and Ja’Tavion Sanders, leading to the shakeup in the receiving corps. Next week will be different once again, since Jalen Coker could return to the lineup. Coker and Tetairoa McMillan should play together quite a bit.
The Patriots didn’t have many snaps in this game, so there is only so much we can take from this. If they had played 65 snaps, how many more would Stefon Diggs have played? It’s tough to tell. What is clear is the split backfield, and Rhamondre Stevenson did not lose his job as the lead back.
