No, you are not sitting a player like Derrick Henry, even if he has fumblitis or a tough matchup. We also will not dwell on a bad performance from Saquon Barkley. Simply, start your studs! This article is designed to help solve some of those difficult RB2 or Flex questions you may have, with players who live in that grey area.

Now, labeling a player as a “sit” does not mean they are a must-sit player. As always, check out my weekly fantasy football rankings here. You can also become a member to join a group chat with me and other members where all fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em questions are welcomed!

Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 4 RBs

Start: JK Dobbins Fantasy Outlook vs Bengals

FantasyPros’ Expert Consensus Ranking (ECR) Rank: 22

Zach Brunner’s Week 4 Fantasy Football Rankings

One of our favorite fantasy RB values in drafts is paying off big early in the season. JK Dobbins has not only played well enough to be RB12 in PPR scoring, but he has been incredibly consistent as well, scoring between 14.8 and 15.5 fantasy points in every game. On top of that, he has improved his rushing output and efficiency each week, and this matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals is shaping up to be another great performance from the veteran back.

On a per-yard basis, the Bengals have only been a little worse than average, allowing 4.4 yards per carry. However, from a fantasy perspective, they have allowed the second-most fantasy points to the RB position. The Broncos are clearly expected to win this game at home, which means a run-heavy approach to the second half. Dobbins has as good a chance to score a touchdown as anyone this week, and he could push for 100 yards as well.

Start: Omarion Hampton Fantasy Outlook at Giants

ECR Ranks: 12

Two poor weeks to start this season had many questioning how good rookie Omarion Hampton would be this season. However, all doubt was wiped away last game.

Unfortunately, Najee Harris suffered a season-ending Achilles injury. But for Omarion Hampton fantasy owners, this means he is the only legitimate running back on the team now. Last week, this led to an RB4 finish, totaling 129 yards and a touchdown on 25 touches. Against the Giants, a team the Chargers should easily beat, Hampton has the potential for 20+ touches and a strong opportunity to score a touchdown again.

The Giants have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to RBs this season, and they allow the fifth-most yards per carry as well (5.2). The workload has very little risk in this game. So, if Hampton can be efficient with his touches, like others have done against the Giants, then he could have another top-10 finish.

Sit: Chase Brown Fantasy Outlook at Broncos

ECR Rank: 19

Honestly, the matchup against the Denver Broncos is not bad. The Bengals will likely be trailing, so there could be fewer running opportunities. However, we have seen Chase Brown catch the football. The Broncos are below-average against the RB position, and they have allowed the seventh-most receiving yards to the position this season. So, what’s the problem?

If you own Chase Brown, you already know why he is on the “sit” side of the Week 4 Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em. Simply, I am here to give you permission to bench this dud. In PPR scoring, Brown ranks as RB30, and his fantasy points have decreased each week. In theory, he won’t be terrible this week. He also isn’t a must-sit. However, for me, I am sitting him until I need a bye week fill-in, or until he proves I can trust him.

Against a tough Broncos defense, I don’t trust him to score a touchdown. Given this, he is a very risky start.

Sit: Travis Etienne Fantasy Outlook at 49ers

ECR Rank: 21

Speaking of decreasing their fantasy output each week, let’s discuss the player everyone was bragging about drafting after Week 1. After 143 rushing yards and three catches in his first game, Travis Etienne has a combined 127 rushing yards and two receptions in the past two weeks. He seems to be reverting to the player we expected him to be, which is a Flex value, and he now has a matchup in San Francisco.

The 49ers have allowed the seventh-fewest fantasy points to RBs this season, allowing just one touchdown to the position. Even without Nick Bosa, this defense will be good, and Fred Warner is playing out of his mind right now. They have surrendered just 3.7 yards per carry this year, and since Travis Etienne isn’t really catching the ball, his upside appears to be quite low in Week 4.
