Taking a look at the notable fantasy football snap counts from every game in NFL Week 3.

What did we learn from Week 3 of the NFL season? One could argue nothing, aside from the fact that special teams really matter in determining the outcomes of games. Another large factor is the injuries. One way or another, this was a talking point in every game, and it led to fantasy values being a bit wonky.

While some injuries will have lasting impacts for the rest of the season, some may only affect the depth chart this upcoming week. Regardless, we can take a look at the notable fantasy football snap counts from Week 3 to get a better idea of how teams will run their offenses in Week 4. Yes, James Conner is out for the season. And yes, CeeDee Lamb is at risk of missing a game after leaving early. How did their teams react? Well, let’s take a look!

Like last week, you will only get an abbreviated version of my fantasy football snap counts here. If you are one of the beautiful, handsome, intelligent, sophisticated members, you will get the whole damn thing! Notable Fantasy Football Snap Counts From Week 3

Dolphins vs Bills | NFL Snap Counts

Miami Dolphins Snap Counts (61 Total)

  • RB De’Von Achane (47)
  • RB Ollie Gordon (15)
  • WR Jaylen Waddle (53)
  • WR Tyreek Hill (53)
  • WR Malik Washington (33)

Buffalo Bills Snap Counts (60 Total)

  • RB James Cook (40)
  • RB Ty Johnson (15)
  • RB Ray Davis (4)
  • WR Keon Coleman (45)
  • WR Khalil Shakir (42)
  • WR Josh Palmer (26)
  • WR Elijah Moore (14)
  • TE Dalton Kincaid (33)
  • TE Dawson Knox (32)
  • TE Jackson Hawes (26)

There isn’t much to take away from the Dolphins here, except that Ollie Gordon’s role is growing a little, and he is performing well with increased opportunity. He is very unlikely to have any consistent fantasy value while De’Von Achane is healthy, but he could be the clear handcuff there.

Remember the days when there was a little concern that Ray Davis could take some fantasy value away from James Cook? Me neither. In a competitive game, we saw Cook dominate the backfield while there was a true rotation at tight end. At WR, it’s Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman, and everyone else. However, Elijah Moore was productive in the limited snaps he had.

Falcons vs Panthers | NFL Snap Counts

Atlanta Falcons Snap Counts (66 Total)

  • RB Bijan Robinson (53)
  • RB Tyler Allgeier (6)
  • WR Darnell Mooney (59)
  • WR Drake London (57)
  • WR Ray-Ray McCloud (46)
  • TE Kyle Pitts (54)

Carolina Panthers Snap Counts (58 Total)

  • RB Chuba Hubbard (36)
  • RB Rico Dowdle (23)
  • WR David Moore (56)
  • WR Tetairoa McMillan (52)
  • WR Hunter Renfrow (17)
  • WR Brycen Tremayne (16)
  • TE Ja’Tavion Sanders (34)
  • TE Tommy Tremble (33)

Surprisingly, this game was a total blowout in favor of the Panthers, so there’s only so much we can take from either side of this game. For Atlanta, Tyler Allgeier is not going to play in between the 20s, unless they are trying to lean heavily on the run. If they are chasing points, Kyle Pitts is also an every-down player, running 43-of-45 routes.

The Panthers were able to find some balance in their backfield, given the lead. This doesn’t seem like it will be a common thing, so expect more snaps and targets for Chuba Hubbard in the future. With Xavier Legette inactive, David Moore replaced those snaps. Jalen Coker is back soon, and he will take many of those snaps as well. Also, Hunter Renfrow gave up a bunch of snaps to Brycen Tremayne here. The Panthers were much more balanced than they likely will be most weeks, so don’t take anything too seriously as far as Week 3 fantasy football snap counts go.

Packers vs Browns | NFL Snap Counts

Green Bay Packers Snap Counts (66 Total)

  • RB Josh Jacobs (43)
  • RB Emanuel Wilson (16)
  • WR Romeo Doubs (59)
  • WR Matthew Golden (47)
  • WR Dontayvion Wicks (45)
  • TE Tucker Kraft (57)

Cleveland Browns Snap Counts (66 Total)

  • RB Quinshon Judkins (36)
  • RB Jerome Ford (24)
  • RB Dylan Sampson (5)
  • WR Jerry Jeudy (55)
  • WR Cedric Tillman (49)
  • WR Isaiah Bond (43)
  • TE David Njoku (50)
  • TE Harold Fannin Jr. (42)

While this was a surprising outcome to most, we talked about how this result could happen on Lombardi Sweep (tune in live on Wed. nights). The Packers are beat up, and they are being aggressive with some of their injured players. This resulted in a quick offensive line injury, and losing at the point of attack most of the game. Tucker Kraft was nearly an every-down player despite the injury scare this week. Aside from that, Romeo Doubs, Matthew Golden and Dontayvion Wicks will be the trio at WR while Jayden Reed and Christian Watson are out.

The Browns gave more snaps to Quinshon Judkins in this spot, and he looked really good. He should be treated as an every-week start going forward. Dylan Sampson didn’t have a role in this game. It would be nice to see his role as a receiver grow. Aside from that, rookie TE Harold Fannin Jr. looked really good, but he did run just over half of the routes (fifth-most on the team). We will need that to be higher consistently for him to be worthy of a start on your fantasy team. Better days are ahead for Jerry Jeudy, who ran 13% more routes than Cedric Tillman.

Woody Marks fantasy football snap counts week 3

Texans vs Jaguars | NFL Snap Counts

Houston Texans Snap Counts (63 Total)

  • RB Nick Chubb (33)
  • RB Woody Marks (30)
  • WR Nico Collins (54)
  • WR Christian Kirk (42)
  • WR Xavier Hutchinson (39)
  • WR Jayden Higgins (28)
  • TE Dalton Schultz (50)

Jacksonville Jaguars Snap Counts (70 Total)

  • RB Travis Etienne (38)
  • RB LaQuint Allen (21)
  • RB Bhayshul Tuten (12)
  • WR Brian Thomas Jr. (57)
  • WR Parker Washington (50)
  • WR Travis Hunter (37)
  • WR Dyami Brown (37)
  • WR Tim Patrick (22)
  • TE Brenton Strange (58)

The tide is turning. This backfield is going from a Chubb to a full-on Woody! While neither player was efficient, we should expect a split here, with Nick Chubb playing in more obvious running situations. Christian Kirk made his team debut and did get the snaps and targets. He primarily played in 3WR sets, while Jayden Higgins was the second receiver in 2WR sets.

Yes, Brian Thomas Jr. was out there; he just continues to not produce. Thank the fantasy Gods for that 46-yard reception. Dyami Brown left with a shoulder injury, and Parker Washington played damn well, taking over that role, seeing 11 targets. The backfield was a bit more balanced in this game. And while Bhayshul Tuten did score a touchdown, he was clearly the minority role in this committee.

Bengals vs Vikings | NFL Snap Counts

Cincinnati Bengals Snap Counts (56 Total)

  • RB Chase Brown (31)
  • RB Samaje Perine (15)
  • RB Tahj Brooks (10)
  • WR Ja’Marr Chase (48)
  • WR Tee Higgins (46)
  • WR Andrei Iosivas (35)
  • TE Drew Sample (38)
  • TE Noah Fant (18)
  • TE Mike Gesicki (17)

Minnesota Vikings Snap Counts (60 Total)

  • RB Jordan Mason (36)
  • RB Zavier Scott (17)
  • RB Cam Akers (7)
  • WR Jalen Nailor (50)
  • WR Justin Jefferson (48)
  • WR Adam Thielen (45)
  • TE TJ Hockenson (41)

Chase Brown continues to be on the field for Cincinnati. But, boy, has he been bad. He is no longer an obvious plug-and-play. Watch this situation to see if Tahj Brooks’ snaps increase at some point. Otherwise, the top two receivers will play better, and you should avoid the TEs. Jake Browning and this offense will be better in games they aren’t playing on their heels.

With no Aaron Jones, this was Jordan Mason’s backfield. He looked good! To replace the receiving production of Jones, look to Zavier Scott, who also played well. He could have more relevance in games that aren’t total shit shows. Jordan Addison is back next week, so look for Jalen Nailor to take a step back.

Jets vs Buccaneers | NFL Snap Counts

New York Jets Snap Counts (69 Total)

  • RB Breece Hall (38)
  • RB Braelon Allen (23)
  • RB Isaiah Davis (9)
  • WR Garrett Wilson (69)
  • WR Arian Smith (54)
  • WR Tyler Johnson (48)
  • TE Mason Taylor (51)
  • TE Jeremy Rucker (28)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Snap Counts (72 Total)

  • RB Bucky Irving (53)
  • RB Rachaad White (20)
  • WR Mike Evans (52)
  • WR Emeka Egbuka (46)
  • WR Sterling Shepard (44)
  • WR Tez Johnson (21)
  • TE Cade Otton (66)

With no Justin Fields, the Jets had to play a bit differently in this game. Playing from behind also led to this. They dropped back and passed a bunch, and the only thing to take away from the receivers is rookie TE Mason Taylor running 33-of-47 routes. As far as RBs go, it’s not a surprise that Breece Hall led the backfield, but Braelon Allen played a lot. He also ran 12 routes in the game, so it’s not a situation where he is only out there to run the ball.

Chris Godwin could return next week, which would throw a wrench into the fantasy football snap counts here. Emeka Egbuka can play everywhere, so expect Sterling Shepard to give up snaps. However, we need to watch Mike Evans this week. He left with a hamstring injury. If he’s out, Egbuka takes that role while Chris Godwin returns and plays in the slot.
