When is the 2025 NFL Draft?
The 2025 NFL Draft kicks off on Thursday, April 24, beginning at 8 p.m. ET. The draft will take place in Green Bay, WI, which brings plenty of potential challenges. Only Round 1 will take place on Thursday. Rounds 2-3 will take place on April 25th, with the remaining four rounds wrapping up on Sunday, April 26th. There will be 257 players selected across the seven rounds, with many more getting phone calls immediately afterward.
While his teammate, Shedeur Sanders is notably not attending the 2025 NFL Draft, Travis Hunter has said that he will be at the 2025 NFL Draft.
Travis Hunter Scouting Report
Strengths
One of the biggest strengths of Travis Hunter is that he has incredibly good ball skills. Both as a wide receiver and a cornerback, he is really good at winning jump balls, knowing when to break on routes, and has a sizable catch radius.
As a receiver, Hunter has the breakaway speed needed for the NFL, while also being able to change his speed when needed in a route. He has good range as a cornerback and also does a good job reading the quarterback’s eyes, leading to him being in the right place more often than not.
Weaknesses
The most glaring weakness of Travis Hunter isn’t even his fault, but it’s the lack of talent he’s played against. While he did look very good at Colorado and did take a step forward in his production at a cornerback in Boulder, the talent in the Big 12 that he faced is lacking NFL talent. During his time at Jackson State, he was a grown man playing amongst boys.
As for his weaknesses in how he plays, he often struggles to get off of blocks whether on screens or run plays. He also has struggled in press coverage at times and can sometimes get caught out in no man’s land when he tries to watch the quarterback too much.
