While the offensive prospects are dominating headlines for the 2024 NFL Draft, there are plenty of talented defensive players in this class who deserve to be hyped up. One of these players looks to be Junior Colson out of Michigan.

When is the 2024 NFL Draft?
The 2024 NFL Draft kicks off on Thursday, April 25, beginning at 8 p.m. ET. Only Round 1 will take place on Thursday. Rounds 2-3 will take place on April 26th, with the remaining four rounds wrapping up on Sunday, Apil 27th. There will be 257 players selected across the seven rounds, with many more getting phone calls immediately afterward.

Strengths
Junior Colson has fought through adversity in life, and he is willing to fight through the pain to play in games. He has the size and strength to play inside linebacker in the NFL, and his athleticism impresses as well. Whether it’s running sideline to sideline or taking on blocks inside, Colson makes plays. He’s a downhill linebacker who also has the awareness and quickness to thrive in the current NFL.
Weaknesses
Colson has tight hips and doesn’t change direction as fast as we would like. His run fits are also not great. When combined with his struggles getting off of blocks, his game has been more underwhelming in the run game than it should be. When compared to some of the other defensive freaks around him, his athleticism is also a bit less impressive which is likely we he didn’t test at the NFL Combine.
