For many teams, this is just in time, as the offensive line play across the league worsens, resulting in key injuries and overall bad football. Offensive tackle in particular is deep in the 2024 NFL Draft, and Troy Fautanu is included in this great pool of talent. However, sliding inside to guard may be in the cards for the former Washington Huskies lineman.

When is the 2024 NFL Draft?
The 2024 NFL Draft kicks off on Thursday, April 25, beginning at 8 p.m. ET. Only Round 1 will take place on Thursday. Rounds 2-3 will take place on April 26th, with the remaining four rounds wrapping up on Sunday, Apil 27th. There will be 257 players selected across the seven rounds, with many more getting phone calls immediately afterward.

Troy Fautanu Scouting Report
Strengths
Troy Fautanu is such a good athlete on the offensive line. And while his footwork is good enough to stay in front of any edge rusher, any good team will want to move Fautanu to guard due to his size. He has a great lower-body drive, and he fires off of the ball to beat the opposition. His size and flexibility allow him to get under his opponent’s pads, putting him in a great position to win.
Weaknesses
While Fautanu did show adequate power, this was mostly on the outside, so it is yet to be determined if he can step it up on the interior, where he will likely play. If kept on the outside, Fautanu just doesn’t have the length to consistently compete with the premier edge rushers. He does appear to use his speed and athleticism to win more than his power, and less room to work inside could mean some early struggles for him. Fautanu also can get a bit overaggressive, leading to misses and being out of position.
