NFL Survivor Pool Picks for Week 14 – Minnesota Vikings

If you are unaware of what NFL survivor picks are, the basic concept is you make NFL picks throughout the season, but you can only pick a team once. Once you lose, you’re knocked out, so choose your Week 14 NFL Survivor Pool picks wisely.

If you are new to reading my survivor articles, what I do is outline my “lock of the week,” my “value of the week” and my “high-risk, high-reward pick.”

The lock of the week details what team I think has the best chance of winning their matchup. This would most likely be a good team that plays a bad team. The lock is also the official pick for NFL Survivor Pools, meaning we will not reuse a “lock.” My value pick of the week details a mid-tier team that has a good matchup. And finally, my high-risk, high-reward pick details a bad team that has a good matchup. It may be worth it to look at the NFL betting odds for these games and place some bets as well.

    Teams Used:

    1. Baltimore Ravens
    2. Buffalo Bills
    3. Jacksonville Jaguars
    4. Kansas City Chiefs
    5. Detroit Lions
    6. Miami Dolphins
    7. Seattle Seahawks
    8. Philadelphia Eagles
    9. Cleveland Browns
    10. Dallas Cowboys
    11. San Francisco 49ers
    12. Tennessee Titans
    13. Pittsburgh Steelers

Week 14 NFL Survivor Pool Picks

Lock of the Week | Best Pick for NFL Survivor Pool Picks Week 14

Minnesota Vikings vs. Las Vegas Raiders

Coming off of their bye, the Minnesota Vikings take on the Las Vegas Raiders while they look to continue to push for the NFL Playoffs. The question surrounding the bye was where Minnesota was going to go with their quarterback. They have since elected to start Josh Dobbs this week. While Dobbs was not great against the Bears a couple of weeks back, the bye week gives him that much more time to get acclimated to the offense. Luckily for Dobbs, he gets Justin Jefferson back this week.

Jefferson has been hurt for a majority of the season but has practiced in full all week and should be the game-changer that the Vikings so desperately need to help Dobbs. I think more than Jefferson though, guys like T.J. Hockenson and Alexander Mattison should see their production increase, as a little bit of weight is taken off of their shoulders. In total, the Raiders have given up 4,125 total yards to opponents this year, which ranks 19th in the NFL. I cannot imagine that the Vikings can’t take advantage of that and with the insertion of a top-15 player in the NFL, the Vikings all of a sudden look primed for a run to keep their playoff spot.

Houston Texans vs. New York Jets

This week, the New York Jets get to take on the Houston Texans. I love the Texans in this spot, as the Jets are planning on starting Zach Wilson at quarterback. Regardless of who is starting at the quarterback position, the Jets almost seem incapable of scoring an offensive touchdown. It would be nice if they had Aaron Rodgers right now.

Either way, while the Jets’ defense is more than legit, the offense is nowhere near those standards and will struggle to score against the Texans. Even without Tank Dell, I think that the Texans have enough playmakers, including Nico Collins, Dalton Schultz and Devin Singletary (who is sneakily having a solid year) to somewhat make a dent into that Jets defense. The Texans are in a big spot here as a win does wonders for them in regards to the playoff picture. I would imagine that they will be on their A-game here as they continue their magic season.

High Risk, High Reward Pick of the Week | Week 14 NFL Survivor Pool Picks

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. New England Patriots

Without Kenny Pickett, the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the New England Patriots this week on Thursday night. Even with Mitch Trubisky, this opens an opportunity for the Steelers to avenge their loss to the Arizona Cardinals in a game that kind of got messed up due to the multiple weather delays. Luckily for Pittsburgh, it seems that the Patriots’ best offensive weapon, Rhamondre Stevenson, will be out for this game. With Stevenson being out, the Patriots may not score one point and could have under five total first downs.

This is going to be an ugly game, and who is better at winning ugly games than the Steelers? While the Patriots do sport a good defense, I think that the difference maker here is the offense as a whole. Pittsburgh should be able to somewhat move the ball, at least much better than New England.

High Risk, High Reward Pick of the Week: Pittsburgh Steelers
