Christian Kirk Fantasy Football Outlook For Week 2
In Week 1, the Chiefs allowed the seventh-most receiving yards to wide receivers. The Lions targeted all three of their top wide receivers six or more times during their matchup. These two factors provide optimism for Christian Kirk fantasy football owners, as the Jaguars do have three wide receiver threats alongside Kirk in Calvin Ridley and Zay Jones.
History also does seem to repeat itself. If that happens, Kirk is going to have a huge day. Last year, he had only one game where he scored over 30 fantasy points in PPR scoring, and that game happened to be against the Chiefs. In that game, Kirk recorded an impressive stat line of nine receptions for 105 yards and two touchdowns on 12 targets. While it may not be realistic to expect the massive production of 30 points this week, the potential for a solid performance is still there.
Considering all these factors, Kirk could prove to be a low-end WR2 to a solid flex option in Week 2. Fantasy owners who might be disheartened by his Week 1 showing should keep faith at least one more week and might consider starting him this Sunday, depending on how your lineup is.
