Strengths
Jalen Tolbert’s production was off the charts in his final season at South Alabama. He recorded seven games of 100+ yards receiving. Tolbert does a great job of using finesse and footwork to get around press coverage. He also has shown the ability to get passed corners who grab him. Tolbert contains excellent route running abilities, including different speeds and tight cuts.
Weaknesses
Tolbert could improve upon coming down with contested catches in traffic. He suffers from drops on open passes. He will have to use position and strength to make physical catches against NFL defensive backs. Tolbert needs to play with more fire in his game, as he could be easily taken out of games. In order for Tolbert to be an every snap player, he will also need to improve upon run blocking. He often gets in good position, but does not always finish the block.
