When it comes to fantasy football streamers, the defense/special teams position is always one to monitor. In fact, many owners opt to intentionally stream the position all season long, playing positive matchups over drafting a highly-regarded unit. For those looking to do just that starting in Week 6, this article will have some solid options for you. Don’t forget there are four teams on a bye this week (NYJ, SF, NO, ATL), making a streaming option that much more appealing.

Read on for three D/ST fantasy football streamers that are worth consideration for Week 6.

Week 6 Fantasy Football D/ST Streamers

Green Bay Packers at CHI (30.6%)

The Green Bay Packers haven’t been great, but also haven’t been that bad defensively, especially in fantasy football. They accumulate turnovers, sack the quarterback and have held two opponents under 20 points this season. Green Bay did lose their best defensive player, Jaire Alexander, to injury, so it’s possible the secondary takes a major hit, but that shouldn’t be a problem this week in Chicago, facing rookie QB Justin Fields.

Defenses that have faced the Bears this season average about eight fantasy points per game, a pretty high number for a team you’re streaming for one week due to bye week or bad performance. The options this week for defensive streamers aren’t great, but this is probably one of the better ones.

Cincinnati Bengals at DET (28.1%)

The Cincinnati Bengals looked stout on defense in Weeks 2 and 3, which made fantasy managers think they figured it out defensively and rostered them as a result. After jumping up to over 60 percent ownership, the Bengals are only owned at 28 percent, making them an available streaming option in most leagues. The defense has been disappointing lately, unable to force many turnovers or sack the quarterback but they have a shot at redemption here against a miserable Detroit offense, who just lost a key offensive lineman in Frank Ragnow and have little to no depth at the wide receiver position. When defenses face the Lions, they post similar results to the Bears at just under eight fantasy points per game.

Minnesota Vikings at CAR (24.5%)

Minnesota is by no means a pretty start in fantasy football, due to their inconsistency and lack of talent on defense. But, it could be worse. They face the Panthers, led by Sam Darnold, who already has thrown six interceptions and fumbled twice. It is concerning that Christian McCaffrey may return this week, as he could change the game entirely, but Minnesota is very good at getting to the opposing quarterback, accumulating 17 sacks already through five games. If they apply enough pressure, Darnold is bound to make more mistakes.
