If you are unaware what NFL survivor picks are, the basic concept is you make NFL picks throughout the season, but you can only pick a team once. Once you lose, you’re knocked out, so choose your Week 4 NFL Survivor Pool picks wisely.

If you are new to reading my survivor articles, what I do is outline my “lock of the week,” my “value of the week” and my “high risk, high reward pick.” The lock of the week details what team I think has the best chance of winning their matchup. This would most likely be a good team that plays a bad team. The lock is also the official pick for NFL Survivor Pools, meaning we will not reuse a “lock.” My value pick of the week details a mid-tier team that has a good matchup. And finally my high risk, high reward pick details a bad team that has a good matchup.

Last week, I went 3-0 on my picks without much of a worry. The Cardinals were down in the third quarter to the Jaguars, but took the lead in the fourth and won the game. Atlanta went to New York and spoiled Eli Manning day with a game-winning field goal. Finally, Carolina got it done against Houston to move to 3-0. With that being said, we now have a little bit more of an idea of how teams will look in the future of this season.

    2. Green Bay Packers

Week 4 NFL Survivor Pool Picks

Lock of the Week | Week 4 Survivor Pool Picks

New York Giants at New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints will be playing their first true home game this season. With one of the biggest fan bases in the sport, it should come as no surprise if the Superdome is packed and rocking on Sunday. The biggest draw to this game though is Alvin Kamara. He had 24 rushes last week and 20 more in Week 1. It seems like Sean Payton is finally turning Kamara into a workhorse back. With the amount of talent that Kamara possesses, this should play right into Payton’s hands of not relying on Jameis Winston to win a game.

The Giants are also without one of the best tacklers in the league in Blake Martinez. Given their average defensive line, this Saints’ offensive line should be able to block and create running lanes for both Kamara and Taysom Hill. The Saints also have one of the best front sevens in the NFL. Daniel Jones has dealt with fumbling problems his whole career. If the Saints can get after Jones early, this game may get out of hand quickly.

Value Pick of the Week | Week 4 Survivor Pool Picks

    Cincinnati Bengals vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Believe it or not, the Cincinnati Bengals are 2-1 and one field goal away from being 3-0. The offense has looked solid in all facets. Joe Burrow is still taking some hits, but his connection with Ja’Marr Chase has looked just like it did at LSU. Joe Mixon has also been running the ball very well, giving defenses more questions, rather than just rushing Burrow.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have not been great this year. Trevor Lawrence has been up and down, but with the team around him, that is probably the expectation. The Bengals defense is currently seventh in fantasy points, recording three interceptions and one fumble recovery on the year. The Jaguars do not possess much that scares you on offense or on defense, so expect the Bengals to win just on sheer talent alone. Look for Burrow to continue looking Chase’s way, considering the Jaguars just traded CJ Henderson.

High Risk, High Reward | Week 4 Survivor Pool Picks

    Detroit Lions at Chicago Bears

Both of these football teams are not great. The Lions seem to be missing a star player. They have pieces that can work, with D’Andre Swift, Jamaal Williams and Penei Sewell, but they do not have the star player. With that being said, Detroit lost to San Francisco by one touchdown and lost to the Ravens on a play that has never happened before. They also looked good in the first half against the Packers. Dan Campbell may be moving this team in the right direction.

I like the Lions here because Chicago look horrific last week. Justin Fields had no time to throw, their defense wasn’t playing great and Matt Nagy is their head coach. With Nagy at HC, the Bears may be in the last tier when it comes to teams in the NFL. Nagy has seemed to have lost the fans. The Lions really have nothing to lose in this game. It is in Chicago, so it is likely if one thing goes wrong, we will hear boos like no tomorrow.

If Chicago plays with a bad demeanor, look for Jared Goff and the Lions to take advantage with screen passes and short crossing routes. Also, look for the Lions to bring pressure to whoever is starting at quarterback for the Bears to keep the fans against them.
