Part of the two-headed backfield with the Cleveland Browns, the Kareem Hunt fantasy football value has always been difficult to predict. He appears to be the clear 1B to Nick Chubb’s 1A, but that was not the case in NFL Week 3 against the Chicago Bears.
Hunt exploded for a massive fantasy football performance, showing off his ability as a dual-threat weapon. This success was a big reason for the Browns’ victory over the Bears.
Kareem Hunt Fantasy Football Explosion
While Nick Chubb led the backfield in touches, it was Hunt who was the most effective on Sunday. He did plenty of damage on both the ground and through the air. However, his most notable highlight was a 30-yard touchdown run at the beginning of the fourth quarter.
Kareem Hunt finished the game with 81 yards and a touchdown on 10 rushing attempts. He also caught six passes for 74, which equals 27.5 fantasy points in PPR scoring leagues.
Hunt entered this week averaging three fewer looks per game than Chubb. While the workload should continue to hold true, the Kareem Hunt fantasy football value is high enough where there are two viable starters in this Cleveland backfield. Hunt is likely more of a flex than a trusted RB2 most weeks, but you could do worse than starting him at RB, especially in next week’s matchup.
