The NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs continue this weekend with a trip west to Nevada. Las Vegas Motor Speedway will play host to the first race of the Round of 12. The South Point 400 is a chance for the dozen playoff drivers remaining to inch closer to a championship. It also serves as an opportunity for you to bolster your bankroll playing FanDuel NASCAR DFS. Read on for this week’s advice.

FanDuel NASCAR DFS Overview

In this NASCAR Cup Series DFS column, we will be using FanDuel prices and scoring. Their scoring includes the following:

South Point 400 Drivers to Consider

Kyle Larson ($14,500)

Wow, what a surprise to kick off this week’s column right? Kyle Larson is the driver who won at Las Vegas in the spring, won the race last week and starts on the pole for the South Point 400. He is the definition of low-hanging fruit this week. Larson will lead a lot of laps throughout, and even if he fails to capture the outright victory, he is basically a lock for a top-5 finish. The No. 5 car is a great pick for your NASCAR DFS lineups.

Joey Logano ($10,500)

Joey Logano is part of a Team Penske garage that has been quite underwhelming this year. Logano still only has one win that came all the way back in March. Look for him to change that this weekend in the South Point 400 and get win number two of the season. In the last ten races at LVMS, Logano has an average finish of 6.1 to go along with two wins. The No. 22 car is one you want in your FanDuel NASCAR DFS lineups.

Christopher Bell ($9,500)

Christopher Bell has been one of the more underrated drivers so far in the playoffs. He was able to easily move into the Round of 12 on points despite cutting a tire towards the end of last Saturday’s race at Bristol. Bell finished seventh in the spring race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Bell starts 12th, the last driver of all the playoff contenders, but he won’t stay there. Look for the No. 20 car to score a comfortable top-10 on Sunday.

Chris Buescher ($7,000)

The value play this week is Chris Buescher, a guy we like quite a lot on the Burnt Rubber Racing podcast. Buescher finished 14th in the first race at Las Vegas back in March. The No. 17 car starts 25th and has plenty of points sitting out in front of him if he can gain spots throughout the race. Put Buescher in your NASCAR DFS lineups for this week.

South Point 400 Drivers to Avoid

William Byron ($11,000)

William Byron might be one of the most consistent drivers on the season, but he has a bad history running at Las Vegas. He has an average finish of just 20.3 in his seven NASCAR Cup Series races here. Byron starts third on Sunday which only worsens for his DFS prospects. Willy B can be skipped this week.

Chase Elliott ($12,500)

There are a few reasons as to why you should not take the No. 9 car of Chase Elliott this week. Let’s start with his LVMS stats which are abysmal. In his last 9 races here, he has an average finish of 21st. Combine that with the fact that there may be some payback coming from another driver this week and that makes Elliott is a NASCAR DFS no-go.

Tyler Reddick ($8,500)

The No. 8 car of Tyler Reddick has not been too good in the past at Las Vegas. He has an average finish of just 26th in his three previous Cup races at the Sin City track. Tyler Reddick has been mediocre in the playoffs and he was eliminated last week. Running for pride is not enough to convince me that Reddick should be included in NASCAR DFS lineups this week.

Kurt Busch ($9,000)

The winner of the South Point 400 race last year finds himself on the avoid list. Despite last year’s victory, Kurt Busch has an average finish of just 20.4 in his last nine races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Like Reddick, he was eliminated from the playoffs last week after mediocre results in the Round of 16. Kurt Busch is not a guy you want in your FanDuel NASCAR DFS lineups on Sunday.
