Browns vs Chiefs Week 1 NFL Betting Preview

NFL Regular Season — Week 1 Game
Cleveland Browns (0-0) vs. Kansas City Chiefs (0-0)
Date: Sunday, September 12, 2021
Time: 4:25 p.m. EST
Venue: Arrowhead Stadium — Kansas City, MO
Coverage: CBS

The Browns enter this season with sky-high expectations. Have we heard this story before? While the failed expectations from the Browns a couple seasons ago were fun to watch from the outside, this team is different. They are built to compete now, and there are few obvious weaknesses to exploit. Offensively, this team is solid when they get to run downhill at their opponents. However, in games like this where they may be playing on their heels a bit and chasing points, we will see what kind of player Baker Mayfield has truly become. Defensively, again, they will be strong when playing with a lead, since they can unleash the dogs up front. If they’re behind in the score, we’ll see.

The Chiefs entire this season looking to get the bad taste out of their mouth. They feel embarrassed about what took place in the Super Bowl. After rebuilding their offensive line, they will look to come out of the gates strong, playing in front of a rowdy Arrowhead crowd that gives them a true home-field advantage. The Chiefs essentially coasted to 14 wins last season. If they maintain their focus and competitiveness this season, we could be witnessing some historic offensive records.
