    Eagles vs Steelers Betting Preview

The Eagles finally got their first win of the season, against a depleted 49ers team last week. With a 1-2-1 record, Philadelphia sits alone atop the NFC East, which is as funny as it is sad. Injuries continue to be the story for this team. Dallas Goedert and Jalen Reagor remain out, and DeSean Jackson, Alshon Jeffery and Avonte Maddox join them for this matchup.

Missing a number of receiving weapons, like usual, this game comes down to the success of Carson Wentz. He has had a bad season, completing just 60.6 percent of his passes for four touchdowns, seven interceptions and an average of 232.5 yards per game. Aside from the lack of weapons, there has also been a lack of protection. Wentz has an 8.0 percent sack rate, which means he has been sacked on eight percent of his pass attempts, which is among the worst in the league. If this trend continues, Philly has zero chance to win.

This Steelers defensive front is no joke. They feature three of the top four players in quarterback pressures in under two seconds. Remember, they have done this while playing just three games. Aside from being immensely talented, Pittsburgh blitzes more than any other team in the league (51.2%), which should cause trouble against this weak, beat up offensive line for the Eagles.

Offensively, Pittsburgh has scored 26+ points in each game, but they are still trying to find their groove. Ben Roethlisberger essentially had a full year off of football, so he is still getting up to speed. Still, he has thrown seven touchdowns to one interception in three games, averaging 259 passing yards per game. While the Philadelphia defense has been decent, the loss of starting cornerback Maddox could be exploited this week.

    Eagles vs Steelers Betting Trends

    • Philadelphia is 1-4 against the spread (ATS) in its last five games dating back to 2019.
    • Philadelphia is 1-3-1 straight up in its last five games dating back to 2019.
    • Pittsburgh is 2-4 ATS in its last six games dating back to 2019.
    • The total has hit the under in eight of Pittsburgh’s last 11 games dating back to 2019.

    Eagles vs Steelers Betting Stats

    • Philadelphia is averaging 21.0 points per game (PPG) this season (No. 26 in the NFL).
    • Philadelphia is surrendering 26.8 PPG this season (No. 20 in the NFL).
    • Pittsburgh is averaging 26.7 PPG this season (T-No. 12 in the NFL).
    • Pittsburgh is surrendering 19.3 PPG this season (No. 5 in the NFL).

Monkey Knife Fight NFL Props + NFL Picks

Monkey Knife Fight is a DFS site unlike DraftKings or FanDuel. Instead, the contests feature props to play, with varying multipliers for each contest. Unlike the aforementioned sites, you are only competing with yourself on MKF, and you do not need to worry about annoying salary caps.

Monkey Knife Fight has several great NFL props for the entire Week 5 slate. Here is one of my favorites for the Eagles vs Steelers game.

While I believe the Steelers will be firmly in control and they will hold Wentz in check, giving him over 40 yards of cushion is ridiculous. The game script should ask him to pass a lot. On the other side, it should call for plenty of rushes from James Conner. Finally, JuJu Smith-Schuster is the better wide receiver choice in this game, with Diontae Johnson seeing plenty of coverage on the outside from Darius Slay.

Predicting all three of these correctly will earn you 5x your money.

Eagles vs Steelers NFL Picks and NFL Odds

You have to have a strong group of wide receivers to beat the Steelers, since you will be taking one off the field to use a blocking tight end. Simply, the Eagles do not have that necessary receiving talent. In my eyes, they have no shot to keep up with the Steelers.
