We are lucky that quarterback is the deepest position for fantasy football, since it has been a bummer start to the season. We have seen injuries, like Jayden Daniels, as well as players who seemingly stink, like Drake Maye and Justin Herbert. If you are one of the victims of this, then you no doubt are starting down some tough Week 4 QB Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em decisions. Luckily, I’m here to help!
Now, let’s establish some boundaries here. I am not here to say Lamar Jackson is a “start” this week. We’ll leave that groundbreaking analysis to the AI slop creators. Instead, I will be discussing those who are worthy of a conversation and who may be on the fringe of being a QB1 this week.
Now, labeling a player as a “sit” does not mean they are a must-sit player. As always, check out our weekly fantasy football rankings here. You can also become a member to join a group chat with Zach Brunner and other members where all fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em questions are welcome!

Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 4 QBs
Start: Jacoby Brissett Fantasy Outlook at Giants
We will begin our Week 4 Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em with a player who was often mentioned last season. After a really strong 2025 season, Jacoby Brissett finally put together a great performance last week, finishing as QB4 for the week. We all remember Brissett talking about how he didn’t know the playbook after signing his new contract this offseason. There is a chance he is just now finally settling in and feeling comfortable in the new Arizona Cardinals offense.
It is a great time for Brissett to feel comfortable, as he gets a solid matchup against the New York Giants. Believe it or not, the Giants have just one single sack this season. So, when an underperforming pass rush loses someone as elite as Brian Burns, that will only make a struggling group worse.
If Brissett gets to sit back and read the defense, he has enough weapons to attack downfield. We know Trey McBride is one of the best playmakers at his position, and both Jeremiyah Love and Michael Wilson can do damage as well. Hell, if Brissett doesn’t get pressured, Marvin Harrison Jr. could even have time to get open (maybe). Regardless, Jacoby Brissett is a high-ceiling, high-floor QB play for fantasy football.
Start: CJ Stroud Fantasy Outlook vs Cowboys
The NFL schedulers have really done the Dallas Cowboys dirty. After getting embarrassed in Brazil last week, they have to hop on a plane back to Texas, then hit the road to play the Texans in Houston. Everything is set up for Houston to showcase why they should be the respected team in Texas, and that begins with CJ Stroud.
There were many questions surrounding Stroud heading into this season, but he has played pretty well. Currently, he ranks as QB18 for the season, and he has been playing without Nico Collins for most of the season. Not only does Collins have a strong chance to play in Week 4, but the overall matchup for Stroud is terrific.
The biggest issue for Stroud this season is the pressure he has been under. He has been sacked the second-most times (10) while being pressured the third-most times (51). Luckily, the Cowboys have the third-lowest sack rate (2.33%), and they struggle to defend downfield as well. Dallas has allowed 7.4 yards per pass attempt, and they have allowed the second-highest completion rate in the league (72.6%). The Cowboys give up the third-most fantasy points to QBs this season (23.5), showcasing just how good of a matchup this is for the Texans’ passing attack.
CJ Stroud is a solid play regardless of Nico Collins’ status. If he gets his WR1 back, Stroud could be one of the better plays of the week.
Sit: Justin Herbert Fantasy Outlook at Seahawks
I’m not sure you can sell any of your Los Angeles Chargers right now, but the easy part of their season is over. Now, Justin Herbert and the Chargers face an absolute gauntlet (at SEA, vs DEN, at KC, at LAR, vs HOU, at BAL). Obviously, the matchup in Seattle this week is terrible, even though Marcus Mariota was able to exploit them across the country last week.
This game is in Seattle, which is tough enough. The Seahawks defense was also embarrassed last week, so Justin Herbert will be getting Seattle’s best. Even with Mariota having success last week, the Seahawks still have surrendered the fifth-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks. Seattle is the top-ranked defense in passing yards per attempt allowed (4.6), and there likely won’t be much room for success in this spot.
Justin Herbert is an emphatic “sit” in the Week 4 Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em, and you shouldn’t lose any sleep if you choose to drop him.
Sit: Bo Nix Fantasy Outlook at 49ers
There are several fantasy quarterbacks to be upset with, but they at least have some hope due to their matchups. With Bo Nix, I’m just not sure why you would start him over other widely available players you could just pick up. Nix has not looked good through three weeks, and a rushing touchdown saved his day in Week 3. This week, he hits the road to play the San Francisco 49ers.
In Nix’s only other road game this season, he finished as QB31 against the Chiefs. The 49ers are not has tough as the Chiefs defensively, but they’re still pretty darn good. They have allowed the eighth-fewest fantasy points to QBs and the seventh-fewest passing yards per attempt (6.3). There is no doubt that their strong Week 1 performance in Australia is inflating their stats a bit, but they are still not an easy matchup, and Bo Nix has played poorly this season, especially on the road.
