As quarterbacks around the league drop like flies, the wide receiver position is naturally the one most affected. While just seven WRs put up 20+ points, four of them exploded for over 30 fantasy points. So, the players who did great did really great this past week. Unfortunately, there were many others who disappointed fantasy owners, leading you to shop for Week 3 fantasy football RB streaming candidates.

Adonai Mitchell, Jets vs DET (17%)
We heard the New York Jets coaches and Geno Smith share glowing reviews for Adonai Mitchell prior to the season beginning, and he has only impressed through two weeks. He has 60+ yards in both games, operating as the clear WR2 alongside Garrett Wilson. Both Geno and play-caller Frank Reich seemed to be confident in Mitchell this past week, giving him 12 targets in Week 2.
Mitchell’s role should continue to be prominent, especially in a perfect matchup against the Detroit Lions. First off, the Lions’ offense is putting up points, so the Jets likely will be trailing and needing to throw the ball. A positive game script is a great thing to have. Additionally, the Lions’ secondary has been terrible, and it is only made worse by cornerback Avonte Maddox being ruled out for the year.
The Lions are tied for the second-most fantasy points allowed to WRs this season (44.5). It’s early, but the game’s 48.5 projected point total is also among the highest in the league, so look for the Jets’ offense to put up numbers, and Adonai Mitchell fantasy owners will be celebrating alongside that, as long as you choose him in your Week 3 fantasy football WR streamers.
Dontayvion Wicks, Eagles vs CHI (26.3%)
When Sean Mannion joined the Philadelphia Eagles’ coaching staff, he brought with him Dontayvion Wicks from Green Bay. But for Week 3, the two will face their former divisional rival in the Chicago Bears.
I have been talking about Wicks for quite some time, due to my coverage of the Green Bay Packers. He was incredibly talented and underutilized in Green Bay, but the Eagles traded for him with the desire for him to be their WR2. He has played 77% of Philadelphia’s offensive snaps so far, and his role continues to grow alongside his chemistry with Jalen Hurts.
Last week, Dontayvion Wicks totaled five receptions for 74 yards, giving him 70+ yards in back-to-back games. He will face off against a mediocre Chicago Bears secondary whose stats are inflated from last week’s game in poor weather. This is a defense that will gamble due to their lack of talent on the back end, and Philadelphia will take advantage. Not only is Dontayvion Wicks a great fantasy football streamer, but he should provide value all season.
Denzel Boston, Browns vs CAR (26.4%)
It has been a hot start for rookie Denzel Boston in Cleveland. While the Browns’ offense and Deshaun Watson have put together two very different outings, the one constant has been Boston’s play.
Averaging 18.5 fantasy points in PPR, Boston has a touchdown in both games and has clearly developed chemistry with Watson. He also has two red zone targets and an average depth of target (aDOT) of 15.8 yards, per the Opportunity Index. He’s tied for the most targets on the team, and no one else on this offense has an aDOT close to his.
After two weeks, Carolina ranks in the middle of the league in most pass defense metrics, though their matchup against Atlanta last week really helped their rankings. Cleveland should be able to move the ball, and it’s clear Denzel Boston is a major part of this offense.
