With the 2026 NFL Draft now in the rearview mirror, the dynasty fantasy football rookie draft season is upon us. At FlurrySports, we got together and did a 12-team rookie mock draft.
The rookie mock draft was three rounds and featured a few of our writers here at FlurrySports. The mock draft was for a full PPR league with no superflex spots, but with IDP players, although none were selected.
The goal of the rookie mock draft was to show the consensus values of this year’s rookie class. With the draft landing some of the few premier prospects in already crowded situations, it’s shaping up to be a brutal draft in 2026. We also have our Dynasty Fantasy Football Rookie Rankings here!

Round 1: Early Receiver Run
It’s no surprise that running back Jeremiyah Love was the first pick in the dynasty fantasy football rookie mock draft. After the first pick, five of the next seven selections were receivers in large part due to the weak running back class and the few solid players being drafted to crowded backfields. Players like Emmett Johnson and Mike Washington Jr. could easily have been first-round picks in this mock draft, but their selections by the Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders, respectively, severely hampered their fantasy value.
The 2026 rookie class was always geared more heavily towards wide receivers, and the places they landed in the NFL Draft only solidified this. Even though the receiver run stopped at the tail end of the first round, six receivers came off the board in the first 12 picks, making up half of the first round board.
Quarterback Wasteland
It’s hard to remember a draft class that has been as bad at the quarterback position as this year’s. While a lot can change, as we still have yet to even hit training camp, the outlook is bleak for the rookie quarterbacks in dynasty. Fernando Mendoza went late in the first round, and Ty Simpson went with the first pick in the second round, but outside of those two quarterbacks, only three more were taken in the entire draft. Each of those quarterbacks came in the middle to late stages of the third round, with Carson Beck, Drew Allar and Cade Klubnik coming off the board.
It’s rare to see such a weak class, and if you’re in need of a quarterback heading into the 2026 NFL season, you’re in trouble. Luckily, the 2027 Draft class, which should have the likes of Arch Manning, Dante Moore and CJ Carr, amongst others, so if you’re quarterback needy, you’ll just need to hold on for another year.
How to Decipher Running Backs
As previously stated, running backs are a nightmare this year. Jonah Coleman and Emmett Johnson were great prospects, but after being drafted to Denver and Kansas City, respectively, their values have absolutely tanked compared to their pre-draft projections. That brings up a very interesting question of how to rank the position. Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price are clearly the top two running backs on the board, but behind them, it gets much murkier, which you may have seen in your own dynasty fantasy football rookie mock drafts.
Due to durability issues for Kenneth Walker at Kansas City and questions surrounding JK Dobbins in Denver, Jonah Coleman and Emmett Johnson appear to be the next-best options. After them, Mike Washington Jr. and Nicholas Singleton are the next. Unfortunately, with Ashton Jeanty in Las Vegas and a loaded backfield in Tennessee, even those options are not ideal. Just like with the quarterback position, if you need a premier talent at the position and don’t have the first overall pick, you’re better off trading out of some of your picks and restocking in 2027.
Tumultuous Tight End Value
The tight end position is often the most interesting position in dynasty fantasy football rookie drafts due to how the position is valued. In TE premium leagues, tight ends obviously hold much more value. Even in regular PPR leagues, the best tight ends still hold immense value at a position where elite options can be hard to come by. Last year, Tyler Warren and Colston Loveland provided two elite options, and Terrance Ferguson and Mason Taylor were solid options as well.
This year, the tight end class is much more limited. Even the best option, Kenyon Sadiq, finds himself in a tough quarterback situation with the New York Jets. He still possesses solid value and will be going in the middle of the first round. He went with 1.07 while Eli Stowers went 1.12, but his value could fluctuate wildly with the Philadelphia Eagles already having Dallas Goedert at the position.
Outside of those two players, the only tight end selected within three rounds was Max Klare, who went early in the third round. Many tight ends were taken in the draft this year, but very few provide value in dynasty leagues for the foreseeable future. Just like with the quarterback and running back positions, if you need a tight end and can’t get Sadiq or Stowers, you may be better off waiting until the 2027 rookie draft.
