After playing the Aaron Rodgers game last season, fortunes did not change for the Pittsburgh Steelers, as they once again managed to sneak over .500 and get destroyed in the playoffs. Now, with Rodgers’ future in question and Mike Tomlin gone (albeit for Mike McCarthy), the Steelers have entered a new era. While the pieces on the team have not greatly changed, the leadership is certainly a far cry from what we have known out of Pittsburgh.

With that being said, Pittsburgh has the chance to kick its new regime off on the right note with the 21st pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. The Steelers have a number of positions that they can address here, including adding another weapon for Rodgers, or whoever starts under center next season. On top of that, the offensive line may be a priority, as well as the defensive line. Either way, the Pittsburgh Steelers draft selection is going to be one to monitor as they may be a key to helping the team get back over the hump.

Pittsburgh Steelers Draft Targets at No. 21

KC Concepcion, WR, Texas A&M

Drafting in the early-20s is always a weird spot, because we get to the point of the draft where a majority of the top guys are gone, and the picks become a bit mysterious, leading some teams to elect to trade back. This is also a popular landing spot for wide receivers, as teams that lose in the first round of the playoffs are looking to add another offensive weapon. That feels a little bit like Pittsburgh here, as the Steelers could certainly use the help in the slot. That is where KC Concepcion comes into play. Concepcion is a dynamic playmaker who uses his speed and athleticism to break the game. With strong run-after-the-catch skills, Concepcion can immediately help remedy a poor run game.

With DK Metcalf and Michael Pittman Jr on the outside, Concepcion will have no trouble working the middle of the field on underneath and mid-level routes. We have seen what Rodgers can be with a full arsenal of weapons, based on his time in Green Bay, so adding a dynamic playmaker who can take the ball to the end zone at any time seems way too good to pass up.

Chase Bisontis, IOL, Texas A&M

Pittsburgh has done some work to rebuild its offensive line, but a new body on the interior is a must. Texas A&M’s Chase Bisontis is an athletic guard who has great quickness and footwork. What Pittsburgh lacks in a run game can be made up with Bisontis, who excels at moving up to the second level, given his quickness. Given the bad tape that Spencer Anderson put out last season, upgrading at the left guard position is a must if Pittsburgh wants to get a consistent run game going.

Drafting Bisontis also gives the Steelers some insurance for Rodgers, who, at this point in his career, cannot be fond of being sacked. As an added bonus, investing in the offensive line now gives the Steelers a bit of a leg up when it comes to bringing in a new and young quarterback.

Blake Miller, OT, Clemson

As bad as Spencer Anderson was on the left side of the offensive line last year, Broderick Jones may have been worse. While Jones is still young, seeing a potential day one starter with Miller on the board may be too much to pass up. Miller has a ton of experience at Clemson and looks ready to start for any team looking for a body at tackle. At 6-6 with long arms, Miller would be a great fit for solidifying the edge for Pittsburgh. While he may not be the best tackle prospect of all time, his experience, IQ, and first step are among some of the best traits in the entire draft.

Much like Bisontis, bringing Miller in gives the Steelers a plan for now and for the future. If Rodgers returns, the number one priority has to be keeping him healthy, and once again, if Rodgers is not there past this year, Miller is a great player to develop with the future at quarterback.
