A look at the Peter Woods NFL Draft profile, including a scouting report, his college highlights and stats, and a 2026 NFL mock draft projection.
In a draft class loaded with defensive talent like Caleb Downs and Arvell Reese, Clemson’s Peter Woods is seemingly the most mysterious prospect. Given his dominant play during his sophomore campaign, it is no secret that he underperformed in his junior season. That has led him to be mocked to a variety of spots, going from a top 10 pick to some, all the way to the second round for others. Given his elite athleticism, Woods is certainly a player worth taking a chance on, no matter what pick your favorite team has.
Let’s take a look at our Peter Woods NFL Draft profile, including his stats, scouting report, college highlights, and more!

Peter Woods Scouting Report
Strengths
With a very athletic frame, Woods uses an incredibly explosive first step to get off of the ball and beat interior offensive linemen. He uses his athleticism to slip and bend around blockers, making him a force to fill holes quickly and shut down running lanes. Partnered with that athleticism, Woods has quick and strong hands to get blockers off of his body and pursue the ball carrier. Using his superior frame, Woods tested very well, running a 4.86 40-yard dash and bench pressing 490-lbs and doing 225 lbs 34 times.
One other trait that Woods possesses that does not show up in numbers is his motor. Woods plays with a ton of energy and no matter what point the game is at or what the score, it looks like Woods is playing like it is his last snap on the football field.
Weaknesses
While Woods has shown success in getting around blockers, he has shown a penchant for guessing on gaps, leaving holes to try to make a play in a different hole. Like many other young defensive lineman, Woods is going to have to develop stronger pass-rushing and block-shedding techniques, as he can get very predictable win rushing. His drop off in production is concerning, given that he was thought of as an early-mid first round prospect after his junior season, but is now sliding to the end of the first round and second round after his junior season. He will also need to sure up his tackling technique, as NFL skill players will play much faster and use moves to get around Woods.
