It is a football city that will provide a great backdrop for the draft festivities, but everyone is crossing their fingers that the weather cooperates. Only Round 1 will take place on Thursday. Rounds 2-3 will take place on April 24th, with the remaining four rounds wrapping up on Sunday, April 25th. There will be 257 players selected across the seven rounds, with many more getting phone calls immediately afterward.
Blake Miller Scouting Report
Strengths
If you’re looking for an experienced player with a bunch of snaps under his belt, Blake Miller is it (54 starts). He has a well-built frame to play offensive tackle, complete with long arms as well. Miller explodes out of his stance, often beating his defender across their face. He maintains his quickness and athleticism, working up to the second level extremely well.
You can tell Miller has played a lot of high-quality football, as he diagnoses twists and other defensive stunts well. He is rarely fooled or a victim of mental mistakes.
Weaknesses
Miller’s footwork is far below average, and it’s inconsistent as well. He has the tendency to lunge and also play high. Obviously, this leads to him being unbalanced far too often. His hand placement is also all over the map, and defenders have an easy time slapping down his outside arm. Miller also just needs to sync up his body out there. Whether it’s mistimed hands and feet, or just playing awkwardly, the fluidity just isn’t there.
