Germie Bernard Scouting Report
Strengths
The biggest strength of Germie Bernard’s game is that he has the ability to play both in the slot and outside due to his size. He has experience playing in both roles at Alabama as well. There is definitely room for optimism in his continued growth, given how his production steadily increased each year of college. He runs pretty solid routes and has the ability to be used as a gadget player out of the backfield as well. He can run all routes and does a good job getting himself some separation on them as well.
Weaknesses
The biggest knock on Bernard’s game is that he lacks the top gear that you’d like to see in a receiver at the NFL level. While he may have the size to play outside, he certainly doesn’t have the speed to beat anybody over the top. He also struggles beating people off the line, especially in press coverage. Drops are also a problem for Bernard over the middle, and although he has a decent-sized frame, he struggles against smaller players when it comes to contested catches.
