FlurrySports assembles a list of the best available tight ends in 2026 NFL Free Agency, including Travis Kelce and Dallas Goedert.
Arguably, the position group with the most outwardly fun human beings is the tight end position. As a result, we have seen the TE group around the league gain more notoriety. And thanks to Bill Belichick changing the position’s role forever, it is now one of the most unique positions, which may be why it attracts such unique personalities. Is the tight end a glorified receiver, a sixth offensive lineman, or are they a do-it-all player? The position’s role is only limited by the coach’s imagination, so we will see that these coaches have been dreaming up once free agency opens for these players to sign.
With several teams in need of a tight end of some kind, this group of free agent TEs is an interesting one. Below, we have our TE NFL Free Agency rankings, going over the top players available.
When Does NFL Free Agency Start 2026
Before we get into the best quarterbacks available for teams to sign, you may be wondering when the 2026 NFL Free Agency starts! Free agents can start to sign on March 11th, when the new league year begins. However, on Monday, March 9th, the negotiation window opens at noon ET. This is when you will start to see many announcements of players committing to teams, but ink will not hit the paper until Wednesday.
Best Available TEs in Free Agency | NFL Free Agency Rankings
- Travis Kelce
- David Njoku
- Dallas Goedert
- Cade Otton
- Isaiah Likely
- Chig Okonkwo
- Jonnu Smith
- Charlie Kolar
- Zach Ertz
- Austin Hooper
Travis Kelce Free Agency
There are two reasons why essentially nobody else has Travis Kelce atop their tight end NFL Free Agency rankings. First, it appears this will be his last season. And second, Kelce consistently gets compared against himself. As Aaron Rodgers once said, a down year for him is a career year for most others. Kelce was labeled as “washed” last season despite totaling 76 catches for 851 yards and five touchdowns. Obviously, he isn’t signing anywhere but Kansas City, but that doesn’t mean we need to pretend there is a better tight end available than him.
David Njoku Free Agency
At 30 years old, David Njoku is likely getting the final real contract of his career, but he is still a great receiver and very athletic at tight end. He can serve as a team’s TE1 for the next few years.
Isaiah Likely Free Agency
While I understand the hype and potential surrounding Isaiah Likely, the only thing consistent about his play has been his inconsistency. His hands are not always reliable, and both his effort and route-running are inconsistent. He is also a receiver at the position, not a blocker, so he needs to be really good at receiver to be valuable. When he’s good, he’s really good, but his next team must figure out how to get the “good” Isaiah Likely more than Baltimore did.
