Among the late-afternoon NFL betting action on Sunday is an NFC West Division rivalry game between the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks. The league ultimately made the decision to flex this game out of the Sunday night primetime spot. However, that doesn’t diminish the importance of it for either side in the standings. While the 49ers will look to continue their playoff push, this might as well be considered the last call for Seattle if they hope to turn a disappointing season around. The NFL betting odds favor the team with momentum coming into this 49ers vs Seahawks showdown.

The following 49ers vs Seahawks NFL betting preview will give you the current odds, betting trends and picks for the Week 13 matchup, along with a stream link to watch games all season long.

    San Francisco 49ers Preview

After a slow start to the season that was partly the result of injuries to key players, Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers enter Sunday’s NFL betting matchup on a three-game winning streak. Last week’s victory over a fellow NFC Wild Card contender in the Minnesota Vikings looms especially large when it comes to the standings. San Francisco entered the year among the Super Bowl favorites. We are starting to see just what this team is capable of when they get hot. Last week’s win was largely due to the 49ers’ winning at the line of scrimmage. Against the Seahawks, it’s hard not to give the advantage to both the San Fran offensive and defensive lines yet again.

For now, the clamorings to start unpolished rookie quarterback Trey Lance over Jimmy Garoppolo have subsided. The latter has been rock solid during the 49ers’ recent winning streak. However, he will be without leading receiver Deebo Samuel on Sunday due to an injury. Of course, knowing how the Niners like to run the ball, Samuel’s loss may not loom all that large in the grand scheme of things. Rookie RB Elijah Mitchell was spectacular in his return from a one-game absence last week. Look for tight end George Kittle and Brandon Aiyuk to be the primary receiving weapons on Sunday.

    Seattle Seahawks Preview

Might we be witnessing the end of an era in the Pacific Northwest? Given the Seahawks’ recent performances and results, it sure seems that way. Pete Carroll’s club dropped to 3-8 on the season by suffering their third consecutive loss last week and sixth in their last seven games overall. Since returning from IR, quarterback Russell Wilson has been downright awful. The rumblings that he wants out of Seattle certainly make sense when one watches his body language on the field. Of course, playing behind a horrendous offensive line that is as bad at pass protection as it is run blocking will tend to make a lot of games miserable for any QB.

Given how difficult it is to run on the 49ers’ defense in general, the Seahawks’ only hope in Sunday’s NFL betting contest is to exploit favorable matchups down the field for receivers DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. Of course, whether or not Wilson has time in the pocket to make those throws is an entirely different story. While the offense continues to sputter, the Seahawks’ defense has done its best to step up. Seattle actually ranks sixth in terms of the fewest points allowed per game. That said, it’s fair to ask how much of that can be attributed to good fortune given that the unit ranks outside of the top-20 in adjusted defensive efficiency.
