The Buffalo Bills sit atop the AFC East with a 6-2 record, and they are currently 4-0 against their division. Their offense from Weeks 1-4  was one of the biggest surprises, but the past three games have been underwhelming, to say the least. With the Miami Dolphins sitting at 4-3, a Bills trade will needed, as we near the NFL trade deadline, to ensure their first-round bye opportunity.

The front office has been stellar the past few years, completely rebuilding the roster into a playoff contender. With Josh Allen progressing and the team winning, there needs to be some Bills trade targets to put this team fully over the hump.

Here are the top three Bills trade targets ahead of the NFL trade deadline.

Bills Trade Targets | NFL Trade Deadline

David Njoku, CLE

David Njoku has expressed his concerns about a potential trade after the Browns brought in Austin Hooper in the offseason, but has retracted his original statement about the initial request. Still, he’s a 6’4” 24-year-old who’s been shoved to the back of the depth chart, so the Bills should take advantage of this. The Bills have Tyler Kroft and Dawson Knox currently as their two main tight ends, but neither of them get the job done. Kroft lacks athletic ability and Knox needs to work on his hands to be a successful NFL tight end. This makes a Bills trade for a tight end much more likely.

With Allen progressing well this season, the front office should make the move to add some more firepower to the offense and help further the progression. If the Bills have one weakness on their offense, it’s the tight end position. Giving Allen another dependable option in the passing game will help the Bills seal games a lot better than they have been. A Njoku trade could be the missing piece to the success of that offense.

Dalvin Tomlinson, NYG

The Bills current GM and head coach come from the Carolina Panthers organization, so they have a habit of adding former Panthers players (LB A.J. Klein, DT Star Lotulelei, CB Josh Norman, DE Mario Addison, etc.). Giants GM Dave Gettleman has close ties to Bills GM Brandon Beane, so this trade seems more likely than you’d think.

The Bills have struggled mightily this season against the run, allowing 134.5 yards per game. Defensive tackle Star Lotulelei opted out before the season, and he was their main source of run-stuffing, so making a Dalvin Tomlinson trade makes sense. Every Bills opponent has used the run game to their advantage thus far. If the Bills want to return to their 2019 third-ranked defense, this is the first step.

Brian Poole, NYJ

With the New York Jets entering full tank mode this season, they’ll likely be open to selling nearly all of their players before the NFL trade deadline hits. That includes nickel cornerback Brian Poole. The Bills secondary has been solid this season thus far, but their current nickel corner, Taron Johnson, has certainly struggled. He struggles making tackles in the open field and covering his assignment in man coverage.

The Bills defense has been underwhelming the entire season thus. If they are going to be active during the final day before the deadline, they’ll need to target defensive players. So far, Poole has two interceptions and seven pass defenses, compared to Johnson’s zero interceptions and one defense.
