Just a few weeks back, the Adam Thielen fantasy football value was setting the league ablaze, with a remarkable streak of five consecutive games that delivered 15.2 or more PPR points. He was practically a must-start, and getting well-deserved attention for his stellar performances. However, since the Carolina Panthers’ bye week, Thielen’s production has taken a dip, leaving many to anticipate another week of low scores.

With a challenging matchup against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 11, is Adam Thielen still a fantasy football must-start option?

Is Adam Thielen a Fantasy Football Must-Start in Week 11?

Perhaps you missed the latest news: Frank Reich has resumed calling plays for the Panthers offense after giving the reins to Thomas Brown. While Reich cannot throw the ball to him, there’s a huge shift in Adam Thielen’s fantasy output under different play-callers. Under Reich’s guidance, Thielen boasted impressive averages of 8.1 receptions, 84.8 receiving yards, 0.6 touchdowns, and a staggering 20.7 PPR fantasy points. This included an eye-catching streak of four consecutive games with over 76 receiving yards.

In the three games where Thomas Brown was calling the plays, the Panthers struggled as a team, failing to score more than 15 points. Thielen’s numbers dwindled to an average of 6.3 receptions, 47.6 yards, no touchdowns, and 11.1 PPR fantasy points. Now, while facing the tough Cowboys defense poses a challenge, their performance on the road has been a different story. In their last two away games, they allowed two different wide receivers to shine, each amassing at least 66 receiving yards, a touchdown, and 19.6 PPR fantasy points – a promising recipe for success.

Although the Cowboys’ defense, on paper, appears formidable against wide receivers, their road games haven’t been as favorable lately. With Thielen back under the guidance of a play-caller who sparked his impressive four-game streak, there’s a newfound confidence in considering Adam Thielen as a viable WR2 or flex play for Week 11.
