- John Cena: (-110)
- Seth “Freakin” Rollins: (+175)
- CM Punk: (+210)
- Roman Reigns: (+300)
- The Rock: (+1400)
- Randy Orton: (+2000)
- Jey Uso: (+2500)
The WWE Royal Rumble match is one of the most significant on the annual wrestling calendar as the winner is guaranteed a championship match in the main event of WrestleMania. As such, one has to factor in the title picture and most appealing storylines/narratives when making Royal Rumble betting picks.
The WWE Royal Rumble betting odds favorites for the 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble Match are all pretty self-explanatory. With this being John Cena’s farewell tour, he is the odds-on favorite to win the event. As he has not been involved in regular WWE storylines recently, winning the rumble is seemingly his only path to the main event of WrestleMania and the possibility of becoming a record 17-time champion. But, does WWE want to have Cena break that record and stand alone? Could this potentially happen later on in 2025? Cena certainly doesn’t need to win the rumble to find himself in a big-time Mania match.
Looking further down the odds board, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and CM Punk are all priced at 3-1 odds or shorter. Rollins has taken a lot of action and it’s a bit surprising given his recent storyline trajectory. Meanwhile, Reigns may or may not still have a match against The Rock. If he does, then he doesn’t figure to win the Royal Rumble.
CM Punk came back to WWE with his main goal being to main event WrestleMania. He was supposed to win the rumble a year ago until he tore his tricep in the match. The dynamic between Punk and Reigns is also interesting given that the former is technically “owed a favor” from Reigns and Paul Heyman for assisting them at Survivor Series.
As far as making WWE betting picks on the men’s rumble, Punk stands out amongst the betting favorites given that his entire return to WWE has been about trying to main event “The Showcase of the Immortals”. Getting a plus-money price makes him that much more attractive than Cena from a betting standpoint as well.
Looking to take a shot on some longer WWE Royal Rumble betting odds? Don’t sleep on Randy Orton! The apex predator has been MIA since Kevin Owens took him out with a banned piledriver. The story writes itself if Orton were to win and go on to face Cody Rhodes for the WWE Championship.
WWE Betting Picks: CM Punk (+210) and Randy Orton (+2000)
WWE Championship Ladder Match: Cody Rhodes (c) vs Kevin Owens
Moneyline Odds to Win:
- Cody Rhodes: (-4000)
- Kevin Owens: (+900)
Sadly, this clash between former friends and running mates doesn’t feel like much of a fair fight. It’s a damn shame too because heel Kevin Owens is must-see TV. Not only that, but Owens’ entire beef with Cody Rhodes over his decision to team up with Roman Reigns at WWE Bad Blood last fall is somewhat justified. After all Reigns did to KO, I personally believe his character has every right to be pissed at Rhodes.
For those who haven’t been tuning in on a regular basis, there will actually be two title belts suspended above the ring for this ladder match. Owens has been walking around with the retired Winged Eagle Championship after stealing it following his controversial loss to Rhodes at the December edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event. Could the fact that there are two belts that need to be grabbed lead to hijinks? Maybe.
When it comes down to it, Rhodes doesn’t figure to be losing his championship at the WWE Royal Rumble 2025. The -4000 odds imply a 97.6% chance that he wins this match. With the winner feeling like a foregone conclusion, all we can hope for is a banger of a match and some unexpected storyline advancement for one or both superstars in the process.
WWE Betting Picks: Cody Rhodes: (-4000)

- Charlotte Flair: (-400)
- Bianca Belair: (+250)
- Iyo Sky: (+325)
- Becky Lynch: (+500)
- Alexa Bliss: (+1000)
- Liv Morgan: (+2000)
- Jordynne Grace: (+2800)
While the process of narrowing down the field of 30 women to come up with optimal WWE betting picks is similar to the men’s match, one can’t help but feel that there are fewer competitors with a legitimate case to emerge victorious. The Royal Rumble odds reflect this, as “The Queen”, Charlotte Flair, is a hefty odds-on favorite to win in her return match.
Now, the thing is, Flair has been away from WWE for what feels like forever. If she wins the rumble, she will immediately jump back into the main event picture and have a title opportunity at WrestleMania. However, Flair is a main-eventer by trade. She could realistically work her way right back into the championship picture in what is currently a women’s division with little legitimate depth. Would WWE opt to have her win the rumble to do so, or give someone else a push? The fact that one has to lay four dollars on Flair makes it tough to love betting her in a 30-women field.
So if not “The Queen”, then who? It almost feels like Flair is the favorite by default because the WWE betting market can’t come up with another woman who has a realistic path and storyline. Bianca Belair, the next shortest shot, is clearly destined for a triangular feud/booking with Jade Cargill and Naomi ahead of WrestleMania. The third choice on the odds board, Iyo Sky is over right now, but would have the aura of a random winner at best. It’s tough to buy into Becky Lynch in what would be her return to WWE as well.
Truth be told, when it comes to the betting favorites, laying the hefty price on Flair is probably the most sound option. I saw this even with hot rumors about a return of AJ Lee for the rumble match. A bit further down the board, Alexa Bliss is a name to consider at better odds. While Bliss simply being in the match would designate a Royal Rumble surprise return in its own right, the women’s division is desperate for another upper-echelon storyline and presence.
WWE Betting Picks: Charlotte Flair (-400) and Alexa Bliss (+1000)
WWE Tag Team Championship Two Out of Three Falls Match: #DIY (c) vs Motor City Machine Guns
Moneyline Odds to Win:
- #DIY: (-500)
- Motor City Machine Guns: (+300)
Following an unofficial round-robin tag team tournament spanning several weeks on SmackDown, Motor City Machine Guns have earned another crack at winning back the WWE Tag Team Championships from the new heel version of #DIY. This rematch certainly felt inevitable given that Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa used underhand tactics to win the titles in the first place.
To be fair, it’s difficult to envision where exactly the Motor City Machine Guns would go should they lose this title opportunity at the WWE Royal Rumble. Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin burst onto the scene in WWE and were champions in a matter of weeks. They simply aren’t cut out for mid-card tag team wrestling, so a loss would potentially be devastating for their booking.
On the contrary, one has to believe that #DIY will have more dirty tricks up their sleeve. There are already other storylines brewing involving Ciampa and Gargano as the champs, namely with Pretty Deadly who they have used to their advantage. It’s possible that the eight-man tag team match on SmackDown the night before the Royal Rumble will advance this booking and provide a bit more clarity. For now though, I can’t envision #DIY’s heel title reign ending this quickly.
WWE Betting Picks: #DIY: (-500)
