Wofford vs Drake Prediction | College Basketball Betting Picks
Wofford comes into this year after a disappointing end to the 2021 season, a first-round Southern conference tournament loss to seventh-seed Mercer. This isn’t the same powerhouse as years past, especially after losing to High Point, 91-80, on Saturday. They brought in six freshmen and three transfers in a rebuild-type year for the Terriers. Their defense is abysmal, having a rating of 103.1, which ranks 243rd in the country. If they want to beat this Drake team with loads of talent or at least keep it close they have to be better defensively and limit hot hands.
Drake comes into this year after a devastating loss to Loyola in the Missouri Valley Conference Championship, a game they had to win to get an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. There are not many statistics to make here because their first game was against what KenPom suggest is the worst team in college basketball, the IUPUI Jaguars, so take these stats for what it is worth.
Drake’s Tucker Devries and Sardaar Calhoun, a transfer from Texas Tech, combined for 40 points, shooting 14-22. They had great efforts off the bench as well, led by Djamgouz and Northweather. This Drake team should pick up where they left off last season. Wofford will not be easy though, so it might be a wake-up call.
