What is the East-West Shrine Bowl?
The East-West Shrine Bowl is the oldest all-star game in college football. It will include 130 college football players with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete and showcase their talents in front of an NFL audience of coaches, executives, and scouts.
Players are split into two teams, East and West, depending on the geographic location of their school.

This year, Shrine Bowl will induct Steve Sarkisian and Steve Smith, Sr., into the prestigious East-West Shrine Bowl Hall of Fame on Wednesday, January 31, during the game’s official media day event. Sarkisian and Smith will be in attendance and honored during the game on Thursday, February 1.

2024 East-West Shrine Team Selection
Players are selected based on their potential to make 2024 NFL rosters. A consensus of the 32 NFL teams is considered during player selection. The general divide used to assign players to the East or West team is the Mississippi River.
However, exceptions are made to ensure that the best players are selected for the game, regardless of the location of their school. Players must be college seniors and eligible to play for their school. All divisions are considered.
On average, more than 300 East-West Shrine Bowl alums are on NFL rosters each year. Over 100 players from last year’s game signed with professional teams this spring, and more than 70 players made final NFL rosters last season.

OG Christian Mahogany, Boston College
Widely considered the top offensive lineman in attendance, Mahogany is seen as a day-two interior lineman option in April’s draft. The Boston College product has backed that up with his strong lower base and active hands through two days of practice.
6-foot-2, 318 pounds, Mahogany certainly has his flaws, and he needs to clean up some inconsistencies in his game, but he has tremendous upside as well and has all the traits to be a good starting guard in the NFL. He has experience at both left and right guard and is also scheme versatile.
WR Malik Washington, Virginia
Malik Washington entered the Shrine Bowl fixtures fresh off one of the top receiving campaigns in college football last year with 110 receptions for 1,426 yards and nine touchdowns.
Used out of the slot by the Cavaliers, Washington has some versatility across the line with his speed and developed route tree, and he has the opportunity to impress scouts even more, this week in Frisco, as a good week could push him into the top three rounds in April drafting.
LB Darius Muasau, UCLA
After accounting for 436 tackles in five seasons at Hawaii and UCLA, Muasau is one of the hotter names in the Shrine Bowl this year, and he has backed that up with athletic play as the week has gone on.
Muasau has a sideline-to-sideline presence and is an off-ball prospect who will only see his stock rise as the draft process continues in the coming weeks.
CB Qwantez Stiggers, Toronto Argonauts
Stiggers has arrived at the Shrine Bowl with a unique story. He didn’t play college football. Instead, he took a journey that saw him play in the FCF arena league before winning the Most Outstanding Rookie award in the Canadian Football League in 2023 with the Argonauts after nabbing five interceptions and 56 tackles.
After two convincing days of practice, it’s clear that Stiggers belongs in the group, but the question regarding his physical components will remain.
