Do you need a fantasy football QB for Week 5? Here are three options to stream this week, including Jaxson Dart!
As we enter the fifth week of the NFL season, bye weeks are starting across the NFL. With players like Jordan Love and Caleb Williams off this week, you may be in need of a fantasy football QB to stream for Week 5. Injuries and veterans getting benched have thrown a wrench into this week of football as well.
Using information that we learned through the first month of the season, we have a pretty good idea of which matchups to attack for our Week 5 QB fantasy football streamers! When you’re done, check out our Week 5 fantasy football rankings!
Week 5 Fantasy Football QB Streaming Options
Jaxson Dart at New Orleans Saints (29.7%)
After coming in and winning his first career start, Jaxson Dart finds his way onto the fantasy football QB streamer article this week. That is due in part to the matchup against the New Orleans Saints. On the season, the Saints have given up 97 points to opposing quarterbacks, good for 29th in the NFL. New Orleans has given up nine touchdown passes, and opposing quarterbacks are averaging 221 passing yards a game against their defense. They have given up yards on the ground to quarterbacks, too, as last week, Josh Allen finished with 45 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown.
Looking at what Dart did last week, I imagine that he can do something similar. Obviously, Dart is not Allen, but his ability to run the ball will work in this game. Last week against Los Angeles, Dart finished with 54 rushing yards and one touchdown. With how strongly Cam Skattebo has been running the ball, there will be rushing lanes open for Dart to work. Even though it is going to be his second start of his career, Dart will build upon his great start and register another great fantasy day against New Orleans.

Bryce Young vs Miami Dolphins (12%)
It is not a secret to say that the Miami Dolphins have been one of, if not the worst, teams in the NFL this season. With a very bad secondary, they have been getting torched through the air this season. In fact, the Dolphins have given up an average of 29.5 points to opposing quarterbacks through four weeks. Even Justin Fields was able to pass for 226 yards and one touchdown against them last week. That bodes well for Bryce Young and the Panthers, who are one week removed from blanking the Atlanta Falcons.
The passing game has been an issue for the Panthers this season, and while some of those struggles are the fault of Young, I would say that the receiving corps, outside of Tet McMillan, has not helped. Luckily for Carolina, though, Jalen Coker is eligible to return to practice. That will give the passing attack an instant boost. Seeing that there is nothing that really scares you about Miami’s defense, Young is in for a solid performance.
Sam Darnold vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers (11.4%)
Sam Darnold has quietly put together a really solid start to the NFL season. He has gone over 16 points in each of his last three starts. That tells me that Darnold is the perfect candidate for a fantasy football QB streamer for Week 5, as you know he won’t lose you the week. That is what we are looking for in a streamer. This week, he has a great opportunity to keep that strong-floor streak alive against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tampa has not been great against the pass this season, as they have given up 21 points per game to opposing quarterbacks.
With a supporting cast of Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Ken Walker, Zach Charbonnet, Cooper Kupp and Tory Horton, Darnold certainly has the pieces needed to put together another great week. If you are someone who drafted Joe Burrow, or do not feel comfortable with Lamar Jackson this week, we know that Darnold is not going to lose you your week.
