Week 17 NFL DFS Picks for FanDuel
Quarterbacks
Dak Prescott ($7,400)
Taking a look at the player pool for this Sunday, there is an abundance of options at quarterback. There are two value options that seem to stick out from the crowd. The first player is Dak Prescott, priced at a season-low $7,400. Prescott just finished dismantling Washington’s defense last week for an efficient 330 yards and four touchdowns. This week he’ll play against an Arizona defense that has struggled against the pass as of late. The Cowboys Vs. Cardinals matchup makes for a fantasy-friendly environment with a slate-high 51.5 point total. With the Cowboys receiving core finally at full health, Prescott will have plenty of weapons at his disposal.
Trey Lance ($6,400)
With Jimmy Garoppolo unlikely to suit up this week, Trey Lance will get an opportunity in his second career start. At an astronomically low salary of $6,400, he clocks in as one of the top value options on the slate. He flashed the rushing upside that makes him an intriguing DFS option in his first career start against Arizona. Taking on Houston this weekend, Lance will have a perfect opportunity to shine against their 30th ranked run defense. This salary relief can be key to fit guys like Jonathan Taylor ($10,000) and Cooper Kupp ($10,200) into your lineups.

Running Backs
Jonathan Taylor ($10,000)
Jonathan Taylor had his 11-game touchdown streak snapped last weekend against the Arizona Cardinals. Regardless, Taylor was still able to eclipse 100 rushing yards for the ninth time this season. His salary has fallen from $10,500 last weekend, making him slightly easier to roster. In addition, Colts starting guards Quenton Nelson and Mark Glowinski will return from the COVID-19 list this week to give Taylor some additional help. They’ll take on the 25th ranked Raiders run defense on Sunday, making Taylor an elite play once again. He will likely be heavily owned in all formats as his upside is unmatched by any player on the slate.
Sony Michel ($7,100)
Sony Michel has taken over as the lead back in this Rams offense with Darrell Henderson hurt in recent weeks. After suffering an MCL sprain against Minnesota, Henderson was placed on injured reserve. Michel will once again see 20+ carries against the Ravens with no real competition for touches. Although Baltimore has been tough against the run this season, they were torched by Joe Mixon for 28.5 FanDuel points just last week. While the eventual return of Cam Akers is of concern, fire up Michel for at least one more week of RB1 production.
Jaret Patterson ($5,400)
Jaret Patterson will likely get his first career start at running back following Antonio Gibson’s positive COVID-19 test. The discount bin of running backs is less appealing this week with FanDuel making salary corrections from Week 16. Taking on the Eagles this week is a tough task, as they’ve shut down the run in recent weeks. If you’re looking for other salary-saving backs, look to Rhamondre Stevenson ($5,700), Michael Carter ($5,700), Dare Ogunbowale ($5,600), and Rex Burkhead ($5,600).

Wide Receivers
Cooper Kupp ($10,200)
Cooper Kupp continued his dominance with another 13 targets and 100 yards against the Vikings. No other wide receiver competes with Kupp’s floor, as he has double-digit fantasy points in all but one game this season. His matchup can’t get any better this week against a Baltimore defense that’s decimated by injuries. Tee Higgins, Ja’Marr Chase, and Tyler Boyd exploited the Ravens’ secondary for 404 combined receiving yards. This makes Kupp, Odell Beckham Jr. ($6,500), and Van Jefferson ($6,000) viable for DFS contests this weekend.
Tyreek Hill ($8,200)
Tyreek Hill had a disappointing Week 16 after seeing just two targets against the Steelers. He logged only 42% of offensive snaps as Patrick Mahomes claimed that Hill’s exhaustion from COVID-19 recovery kept him off the field. Hill should be feeling much better for this week’s high-scoring affair against the Bengals. The Chiefs Vs. Bengals matchup holds a 50.5 point total as the Chiefs will also get Travis Kelce back. Hill is a high upside tournament play and is an excellent stacking option with Patrick Mahomes.
Tyler Lockett ($7,100) & DK Metcalf ($6,600)
The Seahawks offensive situation has been a nightmare as Russell Wilson has failed to reach 300 yards passing since Week 2. Both Tyler Lockett and Dk Metcalf have been inconsistent fantasy options all season as a result. There’s reason to be optimistic for both players this week taking on a Detroit Lions secondary manned by backups. With Amani Oruwariye now placed on IR, the Lions will be without their three top perimeter corners against the Seahawks. As Metcalf lines up on the perimeter 80% of the time he will be a huge mismatch to target. Tyler Lockett also lines up outside 60% of the time and will get a boost in this game.
Amari Cooper ($6,700)
To pair along with our Dak Prescott pick, we present Amari Cooper at just $6,700. While the Cardinals defense has been stout all year, they’ve struggled as of late, allowing the second-most fantasy points to receivers over the last month. Much of this can be accredited to the loss of cornerback Robert Alford for the season. Perimeter receivers Cooper and Michael Gallup ($5,800) make for elite pairing options with quarterback Dak Prescott.

Tight Ends
Rob Gronkowski ($6,700)
Considering all of the missing pieces in this Buccaneers offense, Rob Gronkowski had a really disappointing Week 16. Gronkowski had just one reception for 23 yards while Antonio Brown dominated with 15 targets. Brown had a ridiculous 51.7% target share last week which we can expect to regress a bit this week against the Jets. Expect Brady to get his favorite tight end more involved this week in a soft matchup.
Zach Ertz ($5,500)
Zach Ertz has thrived in his new role in Arizona, seeing 24 targets over his last two games. With the loss of DeAndre Hopkins, Ertz has seemed to benefit the most, becoming one of Kyler Murray’s favorite weapons. Despite the success, his salary has oddly remained in the mid-$5000 range, making him a top point per dollar play. Expect Ertz to lead tight ends in ownership percentage as he becomes one of the chalkier plays on the slate.
