Taking a look at the best Week 10 NFL Survivor Pool Picks, including the Buffalo Bills.
If you are unaware of what NFL Survivor picks are, the basic concept is you make NFL picks throughout the season, but you can only pick a team once. Once you lose, you’re knocked out, so choose your Week 10 NFL Survivor Pool picks wisely.
If you are new to reading my survivor articles, what I do is outline my “lock of the week,” my “value of the week,” and my “high-risk, high-reward pick of the week.”
The “lock” details what team I think has the best chance of winning their matchup. This will most likely be a good team that plays a bad team. The lock is also the official pick for NFL Survivor Pools, meaning we will not reuse a “lock.” My value pick details a mid-tier team that has a good matchup. And finally, my high-risk, high-reward pick details a bad team that has a good matchup. It may be worth it to look at the NFL betting odds for these games and place some bets as well.

Buffalo Bills vs Miami Dolphins
When looking at the board this week, nothing really spoke to me as being the pick you have to make this week, other than this game. Now, I am in favor of the strategy of saving the better teams for the end of the season, but when you are looking at the Buffalo Bills’ schedule moving forward, they play the Dolphins, Buccaneers, Texans, Steelers, Bengals (probably with Joe Burrow), Patriots, Browns, Eagles and Jets. Other than the Jets, how many of those teams do you feel comfortable taking the Bills over compared to Miami? That is why I think this is the perfect week to use the Bills if you still have them.
The Bills come into this game as 8.5-point favorites, and for good reason. The Miami Dolphins are not a very good football team. In fact, the Bills beat them 31-21 earlier this season. Miami really struggles to stop the run, so James Cook and Josh Allen should be in for big rushing days this week. When looking at Miami’s offense, it is hard to believe that there is anything that can really do to dominate against a good Bills defense. The receiving weapons don’t scare you, and as long as you keep De’Von Achane in front, you will be fine, something Buffalo will be able to do with their fast linebackers and safeties.

Carolina Panthers vs New Orleans Saints
This might be a weird spot to see the Carolina Panthers, but don’t look now, the Panthers are a game over .500 and all of a sudden are in the wildcard hunt. They get a chance to improve those odds this week as they open as 5.5-point favorites over the New Orleans Saints, who may be the worst team in the NFL. This comes on the back of pulling off the biggest upset in the NFL since 2023 as they were 13.5 point underdogs against the Packers last week. While the offense was nothing special in the game against the Packers, the Panthers’ defense was able to confuse Green Bay and forced the Packers to falter on their drives. Seeing as they succeeded in confusing the Packers, what do think they will be able to do against a Tyler Shough-led Saints team?
This game really comes down to the Panthers being just this much better than the Saints. In order for this Saints team to win the game, they are going to have to have an effective run and with Carolina’s best defender being Derrick Brown on the inside, it is hard to believe that the Saints will be able to accomplish this. Add into the fact the Saints have struggled in defending the run this season and Rico Dowdle will have another big day. Give me the Panthers to stay hot and take down their division rival in this one.

Cleveland Browns vs New York Jets
In what we can label as the matchup between the two worst teams this week, I am taking the Cleveland Browns to beat the New York Jets. As 2.5-point favorites, I don’t hate you taking the Browns in your survivor pool this week as a great high-risk, high-reward team. I would not do it, because if the Browns do lose, you are going to feel so silly for losing on the Browns. I do think the Browns win this game, though, because it is clear that the Jets have given up on the season and are looking towards the future. Trading Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams are not moves to make if you want to win games immediately, on top of benching Quincey Williams.
The strength of this Browns team all season long has been their defense and especially their run defense. What is the best offense for the Jets? Running the ball. The Browns will be able to handle the Justin Fields-Breece Hall rushing attack. When that inevitably happens, Fields is going to have to be a passer and we all know that Fields is not an NFL-level passer. The Browns’ defense is just so much better than the Jets offense, which is why this is such an easy pick in favor of Cleveland this week.
