Vega Ioane Scouting Report
Strengths
There is no better true guard in the 2026 NFL Draft class than Olaivavega Ioane. He has the prototypical build, with a broad, thick frame. His power is elite, with an extremely strong first punch and power step. Ioane also plays with great control and leverage, with very little wasted movement.
Simply put, Ioane has all of the tools to be a bulldozer in the middle of the line. He has the power to move bodies both horizontally and vertically. Once he locks onto you, you’re done, and his hand placement on defender stunts is great as well.
Along with playing well in a phone booth, he is also athletic enough to move. He has a ton of tape winning on angle blocks and on the move.
Weaknesses
There isn’t much to dislike about Vega Ioane’s game, but his get-off needs to be worked on. He can get beaten by twitchy interior rushers. If their quickness is elite, then he can also get set up on interior stunts. Ioane also feels a bit clunky, or out of rhythm, when working a combo block to the next level.
