Underdog Fantasy NFL DFS Picks For Bills vs Chiefs Super Bowl
Patrick Mahomes HIGHER 29.5 Rushing Yards
As has been the case with what seems like every Kansas City Chiefs playoff game, Patrick Mahomes is going to have the ball in his hands. Given the Chiefs’ struggle in the run game recently, I am wondering if the Eagles’ defense stuffs the run early, the Chiefs will have to get creative and hit the outside. Mahomes is at his best when he can improvise and move outside of the pocket.
While there won’t be many designed runs for Mahomes, using his legs to get out of the pocket will certainly help to open the run game on the inside. The Eagles were one of the better teams at stopping the run in the regular season, so the Chiefs will have to hit the edges. Mahomes has run for 29 or more yards in each of his four Super Bowl starts. Mahomes has gone over this line in the last three Super Bowls.
Cooper DeJean HIGHER 1.5 Assisted Tackles
It certainly looks like the Philadelphia Eagles have found another gem in the draft, as Cooper DeJean has outperformed expectations this season. His presence in the secondary has given the Eagles the ability to send pressure more often. DeJean’s ability to play in the run helps us for the over on this projection. On his 22nd birthday, I am expecting DeJean to be very involved in flying around to the ball. With the Chiefs’ offense seemingly surrounding the quick pass, I imagine that DeJean will need to be at his best to limit the Chiefs’ offense. Over the past five games, DeJean has gone over this 1.5 assisted tackle projection for Underdog Fantasy NFL DFS picks.
Saquon Barkley HIGHER 14.5 Receiving Yards
For as good as Patrick Mahomes has been in the Chiefs current dynasty, Steve Spagnuolo’s defensive scheme has been just as good. In the playoffs when teams face long downs, it is inevitable that there will be seven players coming at the quarterback. Since that has worked so well and Jalen Hurts is playing in this game with a banged-up knee, you know that there will be a fair amount of pressure coming in the Super Bowl. That means that there are going to be weapons that are running one-on-one.
The easiest way to counteract the blitz is to get the ball out quickly, which makes me think that Saquon Barkley will see maybe a couple more targets than we are used to. When Barkley has the ball, there is always a possibility of him taking the ball to the house. So, this could go over on one reception.
