As the NFL Playoffs are here, we get a strong first matchup with two fairly even-matched teams — the Houston Texans and Los Angeles Chargers. Looking at this matchup, there seem to be many opportunities for us fans to win some money on this game with NFL DFS Picks. Using Underdog Fantasy, I looked through all of the lines for all of the available players in this game and picked my favorite three Underdog Fantasy picks.

What is Underdog Fantasy?

In addition to live DFS drafts, such as best ball drafts for the NFL Playoffs or individual game drafts against real people, Underdog Fantasy offers pick’em contests! In essence, making NFL DFS picks on Underdog combines daily fantasy sports and player props into one. A wide variety of player props exist for NFL DFS picks today. The more props a user combines, the greater their potential payout.

Unlike some other platforms in the market, Underdog Fantasy also allows users the flexibility to pick and choose which props they pair together, and you can adjust the stats as well. You can even combine DFS picks from multiple sports and games! When making Underdog Fantasy NFL picks, the only limitations are truly the user’s own imagination and creativity.

Justin Herbert HIGHER 4.5 Rushing Attempts

Throughout the season, the Houston Texans have excelled in their passing defense. They have also put together a strong pass rush, finishing tied for fourth in sacks this season, with 49. The pass rush obviously works well with a strong secondary, and I think that can continue in this game.

While the Chargers will want to run the ball, their pass game needs to be strong to win this game. Justin Herbert has been good this season, especially at protecting the ball. I think that continues here. With Will Anderson and Danielle Hunter coming off of the edges, Herbert will need to run the ball himself. Playing hero ball should help when the pocket inevitably collapses and, with so much on the line for Herbert, controlling the ball is the number one key.

Ladd McConkey HIGHER 70.5 Rush + Rec Yards

In what is looking to be one of the best receiver classes in a long time, Ladd McConkey has already staked his claim as one of the best from the draft. Over the second half of the season, McConkey totaled 709 receiving yards, going under that 70.5 number just twice. It is no secret that McConkey has been a major cog in this Chargers’ offense, especially when it mattered most in the second half of the season. I see no reason why that would change in the most important game of the season.

With Derek Stingley most likely occupying one side of the field, using McConkey in the slot should provide short easy completions for Justin Herbert. We know that LA wants to run the ball, so quick hitters like slants and hitches should be open to complement that rushing attack.

Ka’imi Fairbairn HIGHER 7.5 Kicking Points

Ka’imi Fairbairn has quietly been one of the better kickers in the NFL over the past few seasons. Given Fairbairn’s skill at converting field goals and extra points, I am not sure that there is a real reason why the Texans would shy away from using him in this game. What I think works in Fairbairn’s favor is that the Chargers have a stellar defense. This means that when Houston moves the ball on offense, I would imagine that Los Angeles can lock in and hold the Texans. This rings especially true as the Texans are down two of their biggest field stretchers in Tank Dell and Stefon Diggs.

Given what we have seen out of the Texans to end the season, I think that getting points on the board early is going to be key to taking down Los Angeles.
