UConn vs Oklahoma Prediction | March Madness Expert Picks
As should be expected after losing multiple starters to the NBA, the UConn Huskies have been nowhere near as dominant as they’ve been over the past two years. Don’t get it twisted though, this team is still as dangerous as any. The Huskies have wins over Baylor, Gonzaga, Marquette (twice) and Creighton. They also have close losses to Memphis and St. John’s. Led by guard Solo Ball, UConn has three players that average 14 or more points. They shoot the ball fairly well and are very good at the free throw line as well, shooting over 79% from the stripe. While their defense isn’t as good as in years past, they can still turn it on for spurts during a game.
Although Oklahoma only has two players that average double-digit points, those players are pretty dang good. Freshman guard phenom Jeremiah Fears and forward Jalon Moore combine to average 33 points per game. After starting the season 13-0, the Sooners dropped 12 of their next 16 before ending the season winning three of their last four. Much like UConn, they also shoot well from the line but are lethal from behind the arc, hitting 37% from deep. Simply put, this team will go as far as Fears and Moore can take them as nobody else provides much for the Sooners.
For our UConn vs Oklahoma prediction, we are picking the UConn Huskies to win and move on in the NCAA Tournament.
