Troy Franklin Scouting Report
Strengths
During Oregon’s strong season, Troy Franklin was arguably the Ducks’ biggest playmaker. Being the number one option during Bo Nix’s best season as a college quarterback, Franklin was able to turn heads with his sharp routes and long touchdowns. Franklin does a great job on his release off the line, where he is able to then use strong footwork to find himself wide open. After the catch, he may be as good as anyone in the draft, as he easily avoids defenders with a nose for finding the end zone.
Weaknesses
Franklin needs to excel on his route running and separation, due to his skinny frame. Standing at 6-2, the receiver weighs just 176 pounds. As more of a finesse player, it seems likely that Franklin will need to ramp up his physicality to compete with bigger defensive backs in the NFL. That physicality will need to develop in order to come up with contested catches.
