Week 5 Fantasy football is almost in the books, with even more upsets, high-scoring games and elite fantasy performances. There were some monster Week 5 fantasy football performances, with some new and unfamiliar names appearing at the top.

Let’s check out the top NFL Week 5 fantasy football performances from Sunday across all positions. This week’s notable performers include Josh Allen, Gabe Davis, Austin Ekeler and even Taysom Hill.

Top Week 5 Fantasy Football QBs

    Josh Allen Fantasy Stats

    Stats: 20-31, 466 total yards, 4 TDs

    Fantasy Points: 35.16 (QB1)

It shouldn’t be a surprise here, but Josh Allen looked dominant in yet another game, resulting in a 30+ fantasy point performance. He led the Bills in rushing for the fourth time this season and threw for over 300 yards and three touchdowns in just the first half. Gabe Davis’ dominant performance helped boost Allen’s totals and, if Davis continues to play like this, this offense will only become more dangerous. Every receiver benefited from Allens’ day, with Stefon Diggs catching a touchdown as well as rookie Khalil Shakir. This offense simply has no ceiling at this point.

    Jalen Hurts Fantasy Stats

Stats: 27-36, 300 total yards, 2 rushing TDs

    Fantasy Points: 27.66 (QB2)

The Eagles are the only undefeated team left, and it’s mainly because of Jalen Hurts’ strong play this entire season. He’s been significantly better with the acquisition of A.J. Brown but does the majority of his fantasy football damage with his legs. Hurts failed to throw a touchdown against the Cardinals, but he was able to find the end zone on two different QB sneaks. No matter how tough the passing matchup may be, the upside from his legs is simply too much to ignore. He’s scored at least 20 fantasy points in all but one game this season.

Top Week 5 Fantasy Football RBs

    Austin Ekeler Fantasy Stats

Stats: 199 total yards, 4 receptions, 2 TDs

    Fantasy Points: 35.9 (RB1)

This is the second week in a row Austin Ekeler has made this list, and he’s picking up where he left off last season. His value normally comes from his reception totals and touchdowns, but he was able to run the ball very easily against the Browns. He had multiple huge runs and hauled in a receiving touchdown on four receptions. Ekeler could’ve had another touchdown too if Joshua Kelley didn’t vulture a short goal-line score.

If Ekeler’s touchdowns keep coming, these 30+ fantasy point performances could very easily become the norm.

    Leonard Fournette Fantasy Stats

Stats: 139 total yards, 10 receptions, 2 TDs

    Fantasy Points: 35.9 (RB1)

Leonard Fournette tied Ekeler for the Week 5 fantasy football RB1, at 35.9 points, but found his value more in the passing game. Fournette hauled in 10 receptions for over 80 yards and a touchdown in a game where the Buccaneers struggled. His value usually comes from red zone scores, but he showed again he can be a reliable target for Tom Brady if the receivers aren’t open or the passing game is off. This is his third straight game with at least five targets and his first with double-digits, so the volume isn’t going anywhere.

Top Week 5 Fantasy Football WRs

    Gabe Davis Fantasy Stats

    Stats: 3 receptions, 171 yards, 2 TDs

    Fantasy Points: 32.1 (WR1)

Gabe Davis truthers can rejoice! The noise around Davis in fantasy football was loud, and he certainly disappointed the last few weeks. He was dealing with an ankle injury, but that seems to be long gone after his performance against the Steelers. Davis housed a 98-yard touchdown on the third play of the game, then he proceeded to catch a 60+ yard touchdown a quarter later. His stat line is wild and, as long as he’s healthy and Allen is throwing the ball, he should be a monster in fantasy moving forward.

    Justin Jefferson Fantasy Stats

    Stats: 12 receptions, 177 total yards, 2PT

    Fantasy Points: 30.32 (WR2)

This has become a regular occurrence since he entered the league, but we saw another dominant Justin Jefferson fantasy football performance. He failed to find the end zone this time around, but Jefferson caught 12 of his 13 targets for over 150 yards. Justin Jefferson is a matchup nightmare, and it’s evident when things are going wrong that Kirk Cousins gets some tunnel vision. Jefferson has had some disappointing games, but when he posts 30+ fantasy points, it’s hard to complain. He’ll likely post a top-five WR finish almost every week.

Top Week 5 Fantasy Football TEs

    Taysom Hill Fantasy Stats

Stats: 134 total yards, 4 total TDs

    Fantasy Points: 34.08 (TE1)

It’s ridiculous that Taysom Hill is still listed as a tight end, but here we are. He found the end zone four different times, including a passing touchdown. Hill has always been a swiss army knife for the Saints offense, but it’s hard to predict these games he explodes. For the few fantasy managers that started him this week, congratulations, but don’t expect him to post these types of numbers regularly. He is worth a fantasy football waiver wire add this week simply because the tight end position has been an absolute wasteland so far this season.

    Mark Andrews Fantasy Stats

    Stats: 8 receptions, 89 yards, 1 TD

    Fantasy Points: 22.9 (TE2)

Considering how much of a wasteland the tight end position has been this year, Mark Andrews fantasy football owners got an absolute blessing. He’s caught a touchdown in three of five games and has been targeted 47 times. Both Andrews and Travis Kelce are usually ahead of the pack for the majority of the season, but Andrews has a real shot to outscore Kelce. He’s going to post top-three finishes almost every week.

It’s clear Lamar Jackson prioritizes him in the passing game. Volume and consistency are what you want out of a pass catcher in fantasy and that’s exactly what Andrews brings.
