It’s the scariest or most exciting part of the MLB season, depending on your perspective. The time has come for MLB trade rumors to heat up in baseball as we approach August 1st and the 2023 MLB Trade Deadline.
There are so many teams still thinking about a playoff possibility, so it can be hard to figure out who is actually on the market. Today, we’ve created a guide for notable players on shorter-term deals who play for teams that may want to potentially sell. We will also share some of the stats for those players.
With each player, you can find some of their numbers from this season, their contract status, and our estimation of their chances to be dealt before the MLB Trade Deadline. For that chance, we took into account the standing of the team, whether it seems like that player is part of their plans for next year, and the market for that particular player as well. While some teams on this list might decide to hang on for another year, or others may yet bite the bullet on this season, most players on this list better have a suitcase ready as we approach the best trade season in sports.
