On paper, the Texas basketball team is superior to Oklahoma. Senior guard Marcus Carr is coming off one of the best performances of his career after dropping 41 points with one turnover in just 30 minutes against Texas A&M-Commerce. Although they are hardly steep competition, Carr’s ability to hit eight threes in the first half certainly wasn’t due to poor defense. Over the past four games, Carr has averaged over 25 points per game and Oklahoma will certainly have to find a way to keep him in check to have any chance at winning.
Oklahoma’s offense has been inconsistent all year. The Sooners scored just 51 points at home in an early season loss to Sam Houston State but also put up 78 points against #8 Arkansas on the road. Their offense will run through senior guard Grant Sherfield who has scored 20 or more points in four of his last five games.
