Texas A&M vs Yale Prediction | March Madness Expert Picks
Yale is once again the Ivy League representative in the NCAA Tournament. Last season, we saw them knock off Auburn and bust many people’s March Madness brackets. They will look to do the same this season. The issue is that they have a different team than last year. Their best player, Danny Wolf, transferred to Michigan in the offseason, meaning that John Poulakidas is their leader this season. Paulakidas had one of the best seasons by a mid-major player, averaging 19.2 points per game (PPG) on 41% shooting from behind the arc. Nick Townsend (15.4 PPG) and Bez Mbang (13.4) round out the double-digit scorers on the team. As a team, the Bulldogs score 81.7 PPG, making them one of the highest-scoring teams in the country.
For Texas A&M, Buzz Williams’ squad is once again led by Wade Taylor IV. Taylor is one of the most underrated players in the country, as he averaged 15.7 PPG in a really tough conference. Outside of Taylor, the only other double-digit scorer on the team is Zhuric Phelps. He put together a 14.1 PPG season on shooting splits of 36/26/70. Outside of the two, the Aggies feature seven other players who average north of four points per game. The Aggies are a very deep team.
In this matchup, Texas A&M should be able to win the game based on their defense. They only give up 67.9 PPG. This Yale team is certainly not as good as the team from last season, so with A&M’s bench depth, I think the intense Buzz Williams defense should play a major impact in this game.
For our Texas A&M vs Yale prediction, we are picking the Texas A&M Aggies to win and move on in the NCAA Tournament.
