With two big fantasy football producing teams, the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens, on bye this week, you will need to find fill-in spots for players like Dalton Kincaid, Dawson Knox and Mark Andrews. You may also have come into the season looking to stream the tight end position after waiting in your draft. If that is the case, you need to pick up one of these options to fill in your lineup for Week 7.

Mason Taylor vs Carolina Panthers (30.5%)
Before putting up a stinker last week, it looked like Mason Taylor was a player that fantasy managers could pick up, start and rely on for the rest of the season. While last week’s performance may scare some people off of Taylor, I am telling you to stay on him for another week. He has an incredible matchup against the Carolina Panthers, who have been terrible against the tight end position this season. They are giving up 10.2 fantasy points per game to the fantasy football TE position this season.
With how much the Jets have struggled on offense this season, they are looking for any kind of spark plug to get the team going. Mason Taylor is going to play that big receiving target in the middle of the field to help get Justin Fields going in the pass game. The Jets will struggle to run the ball against Derrick Brown, so being able to back linebackers off with Taylor on the field should help open that part of the game.

Jonnu Smith at Cincinnati Bengals (18%)
To say Jonnu Smith has been a disappointment this season is an understatement. With Aaron Rodgers, it felt like Smith could recapture some of that magic we saw in Miami to end the year last year. While there is little optimism surrounding him, I think that Smith has a great opportunity to get back on track this week. The Steelers play the Cincinnati Bengals on a short week. That means that this is a game where the Steelers get back to basics by establishing the run and using short passes with a featured tight end.
That works this week, as the Bengals are giving up the most fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends, at 10.5 PPG this season. As good as Rodgers has been, Pittsburgh is still missing the basics of a strong offense. There is virtually no run game, and the tight ends have not been as involved as they would have liked. This is the perfect matchup for them to get back at it, leading Smith to be my pick as the leading receiver at the tight end position this week.
Harold Fannin Jr vs Miami Dolphins (42.9%)
If you have been following us and watching our shows, you know that we are totally in on Harold Fannin Jr. I love his bility to play the H-Back position in the Browns offense, lining up all over the offense to make Dillon Gabriel’s transition to the NFL that much easier. Through two games of Gabriel starting, Fannin has been at the forefront of the Browns’ passing attack. Last week, with David Njoku banged up, he was on the field for 66-of-82 offensive snaps. In total, Fannin is sitting at TE13 on the season.
This week, the Browns take on a really bad Miami Dolphins defense. That leaves the door open for Fannin to record yet another great fantasy day. The Dolphins are giving up 8.5 points per game to opposing tight ends, which ranks 27th in the NFL. With how bad this Browns receiving corps is, Fannin is the perfect target for Gabriel to continue to develop into a franchise quarterback for Cleveland.
