Jake Tonges vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers (10.7%)
With the injury to George Kittle, Jake Tonges continues to headline the tight end room for the San Francisco 49ers. In his time as the starting tight end, Tonges has been nothing short of impressive, given his unknown name. It sounds like Brock Purdy may not start this week, so having Mac Jones start is very beneficial to Tonges. The two players have shown somewhat of a connection, as Tonges has scored three touchdowns this season. With the injuries surrounding the 49ers’ receiving room, Tonges is in line for another big week.
This week, the 49ers take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who have been very bad against the pass this season. Tampa has given up four touchdowns to receivers this season, which ranks as the most given up in fantasy football this season. For the year, tight ends are scoring 8.4 points per game against the Bucs. Tonges has scored just over 13 points in back-to-back weeks. With how well Jones has been playing this season, Tonges is seemingly a focal point of the 49ers in the absence of more talented receivers.
Mason Taylor vs Denver Broncos (20.4%)
As the New York Jets continue to play non-winning football, we are looking at what players are actually there to produce for fantasy football value. While Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall are the obvious players in that category, they will have a tough time getting things going against a really good Denver Broncos defense. With Pat Surtain on the outside and Nik Bonitto putting pressure on Justin Fields, the middle of the field is going to have to be used in this game. That is where Mason Taylor comes into play. Taylor will be the easy completion this week for Fields. That has been the case recently as Taylor has back-to-back weeks of nine or more fantasy points.
As I stated before, in order for the Jets to be competitive in this game, they need to expose the middle of the field. That has certainly been the game plan, as Fields has seemingly created a connection with his young tight end. Over the past two weeks, Taylor has combined for 19 targets and 132 yards. Taylor will be the key for the Jets offense to move the ball this week against the Broncos.

Colston Loveland at Washington Commanders (31.2%)
After being the first tight end taken off the board in the most recent NFL Draft, Colston Loveland’s career has gotten off to somewhat of a disappointing start. Those who drafted him are starting to fall off, but if there was a week for Loveland to show why he was a highly drafted tight end, it is this week. The Bears’ offense has had some ups and downs, but it has felt like it has had a missing piece. Using Loveland’s size and athleticism, he can certainly be a strong contributor in this offense.
The Bears take on the Washington Commanders this week, who have not been great against the pass this season. They have been towards the bottom of the league in fantasy points given up to opposing tight ends this season. This year, Washington is giving up 8.8 points per game to opposing tight ends. They have given up 327 receiving yards and two touchdowns. I would imagine there will be some kind of emphasis on containing Rome Odunze and D.J. Moore, so having a safety blanket in Loveland this week seems like a touchdown is certainly a possibility.
