As we enter the second week of the NFL season, you may have drafted with the strategy of streamers at the fantasy football TE position. This has been a common strategy for many years. There is also a chance you suffered an injury at the position already, with players like George Kittle, Brock Bowers and Evan Engram getting banged up. So, if you don’t have an elite option to lock in for Week 2, you may be looking to stream your tight end in order to get a win this week.

Juwan Johnson vs San Francisco 49ers (22.2% Owned)
Even though the New Orleans Saints dropped their Week 1 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals, there was a bright spot in the offense — Juwan Johnson. The big fantasy football TE finished the game with eight receptions for 76 yards. In full point PPR, he finished as TE1. What is almost as impressive as finishing as TE1 is that Johnson played 99% of New Orleans’ snaps.
With all eyes on Chris Olave, it looks like Johnson is the second option in this Saints passing offense, and with the below-average play at quarterback, having a big target to use as your safety blanket screams fantasy gold.
Zach Ertz at Green Bay Packers (46.2% Owned)
Zach Ertz continues to be Jayden Daniels’ most reliable target in a strong Washington Commanders offense. Going back to last season, it seems like all Ertz does is score touchdowns. Ertz has now scored a touchdown in eight straight regular-season games. As we have seen with the tight end position over the past few seasons, a touchdown is more than enough for a high finish at the position.
Over the past couple of seasons, the Green Bay Packers have struggled against both rushing quarterbacks and tight ends. If we see a defense this week similar to last week, with the Packers focusing on cheating up and stopping the run, Ertz should be able to find soft spots in the defense to put together a solid week.

Harold Fannin Jr. at Baltimore Ravens (13.9% Owned)
Rounding out the tight end streamers this week is Cleveland Browns rookie Harold Fannin Jr. The rookie made a name for himself in training camp this offseason, and that hard work paid off in Week 1.
He finished the week with 63 yards on seven receptions. Even more than that, Fannin led the Browns in targets last week. For any player to lead a team in targets while only being owned in 14% of leagues is insane value. Going up against the Ravens, it is likely that the Browns will be trailing in this game, leading to more passes being thrown. On top of that, we saw Dalton Kincaid score from the tight end position against the Ravens last week.
