Offensive prospects are dominating headlines for the 2024 NFL Draft, but it hasn’t been the running backs who have been discussed. After a strong RB free agent class, this draft class is being devalued a bit. However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t talented players. For example, one team is going to be very excited to land Ray Davis out of Kentucky.

Who is going to be the lucky team to draft Davis? There seem to be several teams interested and in the mix. Below, we will give a Ray Davis draft projection from many industry experts, as well as look at a Ray Davis draft profile and scouting report.

Ray Davis Scouting Report

Strengths

While Ray Davis is small, he’s a well-built running back. You could describe him as “compact.” He is a downhill runner who shows great patience. With the ball in his hands, he can break tackles and gain extra yardage. In the passing game, he catches the ball really well.

Weaknesses

Though on the smaller side, Davis’ speed is only average. His vision is also average. His hips play a bit tight, limiting his quickness on cuts. Davis does many things pretty well, but nothing stellar, which may be an issue in the current NFL where committee backfields ask for RBs to specialize in an area often.
