With the 25th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, the Baltimore Ravens draft Tyler Linderbaum, a center out of Iowa. While drafted a center doesn’t exactly break the internet, you could argue nobody in the 2022 NFL Draft is better at their position than Tyler Linderbaum. So, let’s take a closer look at the Ravens’ newest offensive lineman.

Tyler Linderbaum Draft Profile

Strengths

Tyler Linderbaum is as solid of a prospect at the center position as you will see. He is incredibly athletic, looking under control and powerful both at the point of attack and in the open field. Linderbaum is a true road grater up front, using his power to move anyone. His background as a wrestler is also obvious in the way he uses his leverage and hands. There may not be a player that performs the duties of their position better in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Weaknesses

There aren’t many weaknesses in his game. He is on the smaller side, which is fine at center, but he won’t have as much success anywhere else on the offensive line, locking him into the one position that most teams won’t list as a top need. The scheme at Iowa was also perfect for his skillset, so we haven’t had to see him do anything uncomfortable or outside the scheme yet.

What to Expect From Tyler Linderbaum in 2022

It’s clear that Tyler Linderbaum is a center, so we shouldn’t see a case where he is drafted to slide out to guard. At center, he has all of the makings to be the anchor of the offensive line and a franchise player for years to come. Linderbaum is a Day 1 starter, and he will improve the play of everyone around him. We likely won’t hear much about this draft pick in a week and he may often be forgotten about when talking about rookies this season, but that’s typically a good thing for offensive lineman. Start him and forget about it.
