When is the 2025 NFL Draft?

The 2025 NFL Draft kicks off on Thursday, April 24, beginning at 8 p.m. ET. The draft will take place in Green Bay, WI, which brings plenty of potential challenges. Only Round 1 will take place on Thursday. Rounds 2-3 will take place on April 25th, with the remaining four rounds wrapping up on Sunday, April 26th. There will be 257 players selected across the seven rounds, with many more getting phone calls immediately afterward.

    Quinn Ewers Scouting Report

    Strengths

Quinn Ewers showcased a high level of toughness at Texas, playing through injuries. As the top overall prospect out of high school and one of the top quarterback prospects heading into this past college season, Ewers has all of the arm talent needed to play in the NFL. He can make any throw, and his ability to deliver the ball from a variety of different angles helps get him out of trouble.

It may seem like a minor point to casuals, but Quinn Ewers is a quarterback. What I mean is that everything in his makeup is a quarterback. His football IQ is high, he has showcased tremendous leadership (especially in a tough situation at Texas), and everything about him is dedicated to becoming a better quarterback for his team.

    Weaknesses

Yes, Ewers showed great toughness playing through injuries. However, he does seem to get banged up a lot. At least some of this can be attributed to holding the ball for too long and not feeling the pressure. Quinn Ewers also showcases inconsistent mechanics, and this pattern has often led to inconsistent play at the NFL level.

This Quinn Ewers draft projection is taken from a late-March mock draft on ESPN. In this mock, Matt Miller has him getting selected in the second round, 40th overall, by the New Orleans Saints. With questions surrounding the health of Derek Carr, this could be a landing spot where Quinn Ewers gets to show what he can do. Of course, he also will have to stay healthy.
