The Green Bay Packers’ NFLPA report card was leaked, ranking Matt LaFleur second-to-last in the NFL.
Every season, the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) releases a report card for every single team, as voted on by players anonymously. In the past, this has been a great way to hold a team accountable, as poor working conditions were on display, notifying the fans, players, and everyone else on which teams are doing a good and bad job.
Unfortunately, that has changed this season.
The NFL won a grievance against the NFLPA, effectively banning the union from publishing future player report cards. Since the owners are in charge of the league, they have all of the power. This essentially protects billionaires from investing what they should into their business, and they are no longer held accountable by public pressure. It’s ridiculous.
While the NFLPA report cards still happen, they are passed around privately. Luckily, not everyone is as secure with this information as the NFL wants them to be. We recently became aware of some grades for the Green Bay Packers, as voted on by the current Packers’ roster, and it doesn’t look good for their newly extended head coach, Matt LaFleur.
Packers Players Trash Matt LaFleur in NFLPA Report Cards
Last season, Matt LaFleur ranked 20th among all NFL head coaches in grading. This is a bit below average, and most people would say this is more than fair. Players felt he was efficient with their time (often gave players off time and limited physical contact). However, he was a bit below average in being receptive to feedback on team needs.
This season, the respect for Matt LaFleur by his team has gotten much worse. In fact, he dropped by a full letter grade from last season. Among all teams, LaFleur ranked as the second-worst in respect for his players. This is a head coach who has continued to not only underachieve, but the entire team has continued to get worse. While general manager Brian Gutekunst deserves a very large share of the blame for personnel decisions, it is clear to anyone with experience on a competitive football team that LaFleur has failed to have his team ready to play, struggles with in-game management, and is not a leader of men. His charisma is that of a wet napkin.
There is a reason why former special teams coach Rich Bisaccia was the assistant head coach — he was the only leader on staff. With Bisaccia’s recent departure, the Packers need a leader. With the head coach and quarterback both not capable of taking on this role, the Green Bay Packers are at risk of falling further down the standings of the NFC North next season.
Other Packers Grades | NFLPA Report Cards 2026
While we do not have access to the full NFLPA report cards, due to the NFL deciding to hide its information, we do have more grades for the Green Bay Packers other than trashing Matt LaFleur.
Also mentioned was that the Packers overall fell from 14th to 21st. The largest reasons for the decline in positivity by the roster are the head coach, the training room and training staff, the lack of gameday childcare available, and the team’s nutrition program. It is important to note that the Packers are currently renovating their training room. The Packers’ head team physician, Dr. Pat McKenzie, is also retiring after 35 years.
So, while some changes are being made in Green Bay, some will stay the same. Brian Gutekunst and Matt LaFleur were both inexplicably extended, the team roster is not in a great place, and that roster is not happy with what is taking place within the organization. We’re sure LaFleur is not taking this too seriously, though. If asked, he will like say that you “have to give them credit” for speaking their minds.
