Injuries, blowouts, comebacks and more injuries. It was an interesting NFL Week 4, giving us plenty of material for Overreaction Monday! Are some teams’ playoff hopes already dead? Which coaches deserve to be fired? That’s what this article is about every week.
Every single Monday here at FlurrySports is reserved for Overreaction Monday since that is what the rest of the talking heads in the industry will be doing today.
While many fans and analysts overreact in earnest, we should make it clear that this article is mostly for fun and to poke fun at the people who are swayed by the last thing they see. That isn’t to say we don’t believe any of these overreactions, however. Additionally, I will post on Twitter every single week looking for your Overreaction Monday thoughts as well, so follow me and bring the heat for next week!
Overreactions to NFL Week 4 | Overreaction Monday
The Cowboys Are Screwed
The Dallas Cowboys gave Bill Belichick the biggest loss of his career, but what is Belichick’s career anyway? Not impressed. Instead, we refuse to overlook the fact that the Cowboys are screwed, and it’s because they won’t be able to score enough points.
Sure, Dallas averages 31 points per game through the first month. Irrelevant. When it matters, and now doesn’t matter, the Cowboys will lose because they won’t score enough points. And we’re basing this on what is happening now, which we did say doesn’t matter, but in this case, it DOES matter!
So yes, the Cowboys can’t score enough future points based on current points, which doesn’t matter now but holds high importance for the future. No, yeah, you can take that to the bank!
Bryce Young is a Bust and Carolina is Stuck
Bryce Young completed over 78% of his passes on Sunday, and people are still calling him a bust. This should tell you how bad the Minnesota Vikings defense is!
Obviously, Bryce Young was selected first overall by the Carolina Panthers, and the Panthers had to trade up to get him. After that night, when they had to look down to shake his hand, it’s possible Carolina regretted it, and that’s because CJ Stroud is a certified STUD! Hell, Anthony Richardson finally completed one NFL game and he looks like a better pick than Young as well.
It’s not too early to look into leg lengthening surgery for Bryce Young. Could you imagine if he was shut down for the year, then he showed up to training camp next season 6’5″? That’d be a helluva move.
Christian McCaffrey For MVP
The NFL MVP hasn’t been awarded to a running back since 2012, but Christian McCaffrey is an absolute anomaly. And let’s actually talk about the real situation that’s happening here. The fact that a white running back is playing this well is mind-blowing. Seriously.
Name another white running back. Is Rex Burkhead still in the league? Toby Gerhart has to be on a practice squad somewhere. We don’t truly know, but Christian McCaffrey is doing it, and he is playing at a top level, scoring seven touchdowns in four weeks. Quarterbacks this year suck. Don’t reward bad behavior.
If you want to bet on Christian McCaffrey’s NFL MVP odds (+1800), you can sign up for BetUS Sportsbook and get thousands of dollars in sign-up bonuses to use on ol’ White Lightning! A $10 bet would win $180.
The Bengals STINK
Boy, the Cincinnati Bengals STINK! Joe Burrow is too busy counting his money to pass to a wide-open Ja’Marr Chase, who is letting everyone know about it. There’s a little trouble in paradise with these two.
On top of that, Tee Higgins thought he would earn a big contract with the Bengals. Think again! Higgins gets hurt, which damages this offense more. As the losses stack and this team looks bad, Higgins’ goal for the season won’t be to come back and give it his all. Instead, it’s going to shift to getting himself healthy.
The Bengals are 1-3 overall and 0-2 in the division. Buh bye. That’s a David Spade reference for ya.
